1. This isn't a caregiver support site. There are plenty of sites that do a much better job of that.
2. Assuming you actually have a grandchild, wouldn't it have been more responsible to tell the kid's doctor by now, just in case it's an allergy? It wouldn't have hurt to have taken his temperature by now either, because Vyvanse won't do a damned thing to halt any of a number of childhood rashes, some of which are more than just an annoyance.

My first med has been Vyvanse because the docs are just LOVING to push this stuff at us for some reason. Holy cow....anyway....
I've been on Vyvanse for about 9 months 8 months of 70 mg and 1 months of 120 mg/day. It worked great at first, but then we upped the dosage and that seemed to help a lagging in effectiveness.
But I noticed maybe 4 months ago that my skin was looking sort of...bleh...mostly the face. Just kind of tired or whatever.
And in the evenings I started to get flushed almost like hot flashes (I'm a 29 year old male) that would leave my face red and skin splotchy.
Then at night before bed, I'd get itchy to the point where I couldn't sleep because my whole body was itchy and actual welts would rise on my wrists and flanks without my touching them. I swore I had scabies for a month.
So doctors say I have eczema which is possible, but I have these strange blisters on my hands that itch occassionally swell with clear fluid and the skin sort of cracks a little and I can squeeze the fluid out. It's a bit disconcerting.
Zyrtec did nothing. My Gen Prac said to try Clarinex prescription...that does nothing to relieve the itch either.
So global symptoms are extreme itchiness, flushing and redness of the face and skin, and clear-fluid filled pustules.
I stopped taking the Vyvanse for a week solid and it seemed to decrease the itchiness so I'm thinking it might be it, but it's hard to corroborate this with anyone else's experience.
Any similar experiences?

Did you ever bother to have a general physician look at it, maybe an allergist if your doctor was stumped?
Here's a clue: if it's a real allergy to the medication, it won't get better on its own. And let's not forget skin fungus infections - taking Vyvanse won't prevent those. Heaven help you if it's a rash from a tick bite that you've decided to whine about instead of having looked at...

I know the rash and pimples has to do with the vyvanse because I was taking it last year for about 4 months and had the same weird neck rashes and zit problem.
I'm getting off this stuff and going to try Adderall.

Even tho I HATE this reaction to the meds, it's difficult for me to ditch the Vyvanse. I've suffered extreme clinical depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders for 20 years with little relief no matter how many times my meds were tweeked. I was just recently diagnosed with ADD and when Vyvanse was added to my cocktail of antidepressants, my emotional state leveled out as fast as turning on a light switch. I hope there's another medication as effective as Vyvanse.
Any other stories?

I was asked to seek medical attention by my employer when they noticed I was no longer performing duties as assigned (I'm now out on medical leave 6 months and counting) At the time I was already taking 140mg of Vyvanse per day!! Why was Vyvanse not working???
My doc at the time would either increase meds and/or add meds so as a result I was pretty loopy
So, I did not answer your question but just know the hot flashes and mouth sores are some of the side affects. I'm sure you are discussing this stuff w/your doctor...don't do as I and take whatever meds your 'trusted' doc just happens to be dishing out that month.
Hang in there

I took Vyvanse. It was my first ADHD medication. Hives developed on my hands in the morning and at night. They itched and were very painful. Along with the hives, the skin on my hands turned red and burned.
