So I just got a call from my pharmacy saying that my Barr 20mg tablets (peach colored, oval) were recalled and to immediately bring them back to the pharmacy with a new Rx to get a different generic. Keep in mind that I don't know if this is ALL of them, or just a batch that my pharmacy got or something, so if you take the same kind then don't freak out, but you could always call your pharmacy if you wanted to check. But anyway:

Rrr.

I can barely stay awake without my adderall, how am I supposed to function/drive/coordinate getting a whole new paper Rx from the pdoc etc.?
It's a reallllly good thing that I have a few capsules of the XR kind left or this'd be hopeless :o

Just needed to bitch. Am so freaking tired I could fall asleep right on this keyboard right now.

Thanks,
the girl with the keyboard imprint on her face,
m

It's ONLY Barr Pharmaceuticals "amphetamine salts" that were recalled, and only certain lots (not sure which ones, but if anyone's interested I can look it up tomorrow). As it's a patient level recall, you should be getting either a phone call or a letter from your pharmacy regarding this recall if you actually received the bad lots. If you do, please FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS to get new medication.

managed to actually get new rx, even with the pdoc on vacation and having to jump through hoops. proud of self.
^_^
haha. but seriously, it sucks that I had to pay a totally new copay even though it was *their* fault that they screwed up some batches-- am thinking of writing to Barr to see if I can get a refund, but that's an aside.

turns out what was up was that they accidentally made some batches 'super potent' (per my pharmacist) so I probably had a fine bunch but they wanted to be on the safe side so my pharmacy just took back all of them. thanks for the response, aurochs.

When reading about the recall I happily said, "None of my meds come from Barr Pharmaceuticals, no worries".

So imagine my surprise when I get the notice from the pharmacy about the recall of super-potent tablets. My bottle is labeled from Teva... who owns Barr. Oh for fucks sake, really?

That was annoying. Had the stupid bottle said Barr on it, I would have paid more freaking attention to the recall.

Meh.

/end rant

I got the same recall letter. Funny how I got it like 2 months after I got the prescription. Hello, all the pills were gone by then! I asked the pharmacist where I work and he said not to worry about it. I hate generics....
