Hey all,

I've been getting email notifications about the chatroom being close to its max user limit a couple times a day now. To upgrade the limit beyond 25 users is going to cost $75 a year on top of the $50 a year we're already paying for the chat applet. I also have to renew the IPB license which is $25 every six months. So in total we need $100. If 10 people could chip in $10 we'll be in the clear.

If we don't upgrade the chat we're going to have to start kicking idle users.

Revenue from ads barely covers the cost of hosting plus my ISP bill. I've had no donations in nearly a month and am strapped for cash at the moment. I can cover the $25 to renew the license but not the chat upgrade.

Any change ya'll can put in the tip jar would be greatly appreciated.

It's on the right under the "watched content" box and all the other boxes on the side.

It is under the "Recent Status Updates" block on the main page.

Okay, let's do what we can, folks! As usual, I know that we excuse the folks who are scraping along on Disability, and the single parents eating mac & cheese. But there are others here who are gainfully employed or have other funds, and most of them can afford $10 or $25. Around here, a pack of smokes is $8. A pizza is $15.

So do what you can. We can't run this place on good wishes and moral support. If you use the chat room, if you like to vent in the Bipolar forum---kick in a little moola.

Some people have donated and just prefer not to name themselves nor the amount of their donation.

Anonymous, that's fine. I don't discuss my donations either. I'm just keeping this up at the top so that people understand the urgency. VE will let us know when the upgrades and other stuff are paid for, and then I'll shut up.

We've already exceeded the fundraising goal (I should get one of those thermometer things the next time I do this) but further donations will gladly be accepted. Leftover funds will go towards food, rent, beer, and things of that nature.

Got chat uploaded to unlimited users.

Of course this means I'll have to pay more when it's time to renew the license to the chat service but I'll beg when the time comes. :) I worked out a deal with the parachat sales people where I was able to upgrade to a plan that wasn't available when I first signed us up with them. This gives us unlimited users for less than it would have initially cost to raise it to a 500 user max.

I'm planning on using any extra funds to help pay off an ER bill from five years ago when I got a spider bite, freaked out, and thought I was going to die. A collection agency has been really after me over that one lately.

Thanks all.

I'm kind of a slacker and haven't been pushing the button but I'm actually going to be getting some hours at the store over *gasp!* BLACK FRIDAY weekend [I'm not sure how I can do that...].

So, know you'll get a little something at that point, but unfortunately it won't be for a little while.

I "work" randomly here and there, catering on random weekends and I really do want to donate to this site, I don't work again for another month almost, but I'll send SOMETHING. We just got a new house, so it might not be much, but I really like these boards and use them enough that I feel like an asshole for having not sen any money yet, even if it is for VE's spider bite shit. Five bucks doesn't go very far. I'll send what I can though, sorry if it isn't much.

Sorry I haven't sent anything yet, I really will though.

Done. Now that I'm on disability I can afford to donate once in a while. Go buy yourself a six pack for keeping up good work.

You have no freaking idea how much I want to donate. After paying my bills after my 700$ dissability check I had 400$ in my account! The same day I got a 350$ overdue car insurance bill. And I need gas really badly. The FIRST thing I am going to do WHEN I get a job is to donate to this place. CB helps so much and I just want to GIVE!!! Even if its for VE's beer. I can live with that!

Sorry for the ooey gooey gushiness.

Damn its been a long day.
