K. So, applied for special consideration for my psych exam. This is the first time I've ever applied. In the past I have just struggled through it.
It's in the process of being approved and all that sort of thing.
They asked me to send them the dates I'd be out of the country so they could reschedule the exam around it.
Then they asked if I was available on the 18th to do it.
I said yes.
That is the extent of our communication thus far.
The official exam is this Monday at 9am. No one is contactable over weekends.
Here is my dilemma:
Since nothing is confirmed, part of me thinks I should still go to the official exam. No solid rational reasoning as to why.
But part of me thinks they've mentioned the 18th so it's most likely that I do the exam then instead.
I just don't know if the one on the 18th is meant to be the real one, or a reattempt to compensate for how much I'm going to fuck up the first one.
Basically it boils down to: I don't want to not show up and find out I should've; but I also don't want to show up and find out I shouldn't have.
Gaaaaah. Why do I find a way to stress about everything.
Ok. This is what the last email said:
"Are you available on the 18th November to complete the exam? We can sort a time and place when I know you are available"
What does that sound like to you? What should I do?
(I am going to attempt calling the emailer tomorrow, and possibly leave a message to call me first thing Monday morning if she has a message bank. But if she's not in til Monday, it won't be til Monday 9am, which is too late.)
Shutting up now.

This semester is the first time I've applied for a make-up exam. I had a medical certificate and I was told unofficially that with a certificate they accept it no questions asked. I didn't get official confirmation until after the official exam (I didn't sit it). I don't know much about applying without a medical certificate- I think you need a stat dec and a letter from a counselor.
I don't think you have anything to worry about, but it's probably a good idea to call/email the psych department just in case your uni has a different policy than mine,

What it sounds like to me is that they have accepted your request and are trying to accommodate you, hence why they asked if you could sit the exam on the 18th.
If it wasn't going to be approved, I believe they would've told you a lot sooner. I remember when I applied for exemptions without a medical certificate (I did have my counsellor sign it and write an explanation), it took perhaps a day or so for them to say yes/no.
What sort of evidence did you provide them?
Anyways good luck with it and have fun overseas.

bluelikejazz - Emailing the psych department is a good idea. Covering my bases
Thanks.
Vapourware - It sounds like that to me as well, but I am still anxious about it
I submitted both a med certificate and a letter from the counsellor, because they require those as supporting docs when you submit the application. Thankyou
