do a lot of users here use the blogs? do people here read them often or are they more just for the person writing it? can you attach images in a blog without using photobucket (can it come off my computer?)

Yes.

Also yes, unless you set it so they can't. There are different levels of public/private settings.

And, once again, yes, although since I don't do it much (read: ever), I don't remember the step-by-step directions if you need them. I could always check, though, or there are plenty of other people who do it regularly.

I have found (and I am not that computer literate) that you can upload a picture from your desktop. Then, on the right hand side of the picture's page, it will give you a variety of types of links to use in different situations on Crazyboards. One for attachments, another one to insert into a post, for instance. I have only ever used it to post pictures in my blog.

you can post images in your gallery here, which you can make public or private as well.

okay, i see why it won't show up... the file is too big but that bites because i don't want to have to go and re-size anything i want to post. i guess i could start a gallery and then link to the image???

image sizes are limited, try resizing things to 600X600 or so.

you have no idea how much i hate resizing everything i do LOL!! i will just have to do it by using the gallery and leaving a link. i have so little memory on my computer that opening photoshop just to resize makes me want to rip all my hair out. really, it's a 15 minute process just for one image. i'll deal with leaving links because otherwise i just won't do it.

You can also resize in Paint (if you are using Windows) ... don't need Photoshop

If all you're doing is resizing images, you could just use a different program to do it that isn't complete and total overkill and won't make your poor computer cry... I tend to keep stuff like IrfanView (Windows) and GraphicConverter (Mac) around for simple things like that.

if i add some new program to my computer it will make it even SLOOOOOWer... i can barely take it as it is. my ex husband is supposedly going to install some more memory and give me some new stuff but first i have to find my extra memory which is in my garage. in a box. somewhere. (it's only been a year since i moved - of course i still don't know where everything is - and of course the new memory has been in a box for a year and a half).

maybe he'll have brought stuff for me this evening but if not i have to wait 2 weeks because he lives 3 hrs away.

my computer issues are mostly due to lack of memory. with more memory i can probably get in and out of photoshop a lot faster or at least be able to run it while i'm also on the internet. right now, only one thing can be open at a time.

The gallery will auto-resize images above a point. The limit is on file size. I think it's 500k. We just did a fairly major upgrade in our hosting plan and could probably increase that.

Just to chime in on the photo resizing, I use an online image editor called My Imager and you can even use the image optimize feature to take away some of the colors (usually without changing the look of the image itself) and it can resize things, only can't do bitmaps, to change a bitmap to a jpg or gif, open it in MS Paint (included on the windows OS) and "save as" and usually I go with jogs because gif lose more color when you save as them for some reason, or so it's been my experience in the few times I tried it. Good luck mel! Posted Image

thanks for that link! it might come in handy - it does day that files have to be a certain size... which is already smaller than all my files so i'd still be needed to resize them on my computer.

it's no big deal though.

Has to be smaller then 500 KB, so 1/2 a MB. Do you have bitmaps? If you change to jogs in MS Paint you will save a lot of size space on them. :)

What is the file extension on your images? After the period in the filename?
