I have tried many different types of antidepressants throughout the years. I have been taking them due to my depression and generalized anxiety disorder. First it was Paxil which caused wicked weight gain and nightmares. Next was Wellbutrin which numbed me for 5 years. Next, we tried Lexapro till I started grinding my teeth, breaking 2 in my sleep, and had crazy high blood pressure. I have For the past two months been on Effexor XR 150mg. It has been great! I am like a new person. I have gotten off of my ass after sitting on it for many years and actually gotten back out in the world!! I have always worked and been successful in that regard but never really cared about anything. I actually have feelings now. I am so thankful. Just wanted to share my good news and give people hope.

I love my effexor! I was depressed and all over the place and i've improved heaps and heaps since i started it. I do actually take a lot of it (450mg) but i don't have any side effects except for slight headache and nausea for the first two days and then occasionally with increase (as in, sometimes when increased i felt sick that day).

I tried prozac, it made me hypomanic with psychotic symptoms, it was weird. I tried edronax and that made me edgy and constipated. This one is gold!
