i am a 23 year old male with paranoid schizophrenia. started clozapine in october 2006. weight was 85kilos. went up to 125 kilos stopped clozapine january 2010 coz of weight gain and drooling bucket loads. was on it for that long coz there were no other drugs left to try except for zyprexa. now on 40mg zyprexa. havent gained ne weight and the zyprexa is helping my schizophrenia very well.

ive noticed since stopping the clozapine my weight went from 125 kilos to 114 kilos. thats WITHOUT doing any exercise and eating normally. my question is will my weight go back to 85 kilos? or will i still keep losing weight coz i stopped the clozapine? i would ask my pdoc this question but i dont see him for another 4 weeks.

It's unlikely you'll go back to your premedicated weight since zyprexa causes weight gain, but it is definitely good that you are not gaining more and have lost some weight. Only time will tell how much weight you will lose, but as I said, going back to premedicated weight is not likely, most people gain some weight on zyprexa.
Learning about nutrition and making healthier eating choices (like less sugar, especially on medication which causes glucose intolerance) will make it more likely that your weight won't be too extreme.
