It says I have severe depersoalization. I am diagnosed bipolar. Can bipolar cause these symtoms? Or the meds im on? It probably wasnt healthy that I took that test since I am not supposed too self diagnose. But I identified with most of those symptoms.

Dx BP I Rapid Cycling, GAD, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder,PCOS

Rx lamictal 300mg, Busprone 60mg, cymbalta 30mg, Abilify 5mg, Metformin 2000mg

previous Rx zoloft, prozac, lexapro, geodon, seraquel, depakote, xannax, ambien, trazadone

Mental Illness is a flaw in chemistry not character.

I'm sure periods of depersonalization/derealization occur with bipolar. That test seemed biased towards telling everyone they were depersonalizing. I wouldn't put too much on this quiz, it's just fun!

Diagnoses: Bipolar II, complex partial seizures
Rx: Wellbutrin XL 150mg, Lamictal 200mg

If your bipolar ever feature anxiety or depressive states (both of which can cause depersonalization and derealization) then, yes. But, really, it's an internet quiz - it's not for real.

Si nous ne sommes pas pro-nous-autres, nous sommes anti-nous-autres.
If the use of "us" offends you on occasion, deal with it.

Boards I moderate: Confessional, People Suck, News/Politics, DID/DDNOS, PTSD and its Private subsection, Substance Abuse, Eating Disorders

Note: No one here that I know of is a medical expert of any sort. Keep your thinking caps on.

This one ought to work a little better:
http://serene.me.uk/tests/des.pdf
Got a 21 on that.
I seem to vaguely remember taking such a test at 16, getting a 31(?)

I found this test to be a lot more accurate and insightful than the first one. On the first one I scored enough to qualify for severe depersonalization, but it was just asking the wrong questions. Some things that brought up false positives were my ADD-like symptoms as well as my emotional control. It's getting better, but I frequently experience emotions as complete stimulation/sensation overload. I think that is linked to ASD. The second quiz I scored a 5, and 45 is the mark where it tells to ask a doctor about it. I don't believe I experience and/or qualify by any diagnostic standard as having dissociative symptoms.

So for those of you that are actually curious- go for this quiz. (Oh and don't forget the internet can't diagnose you and all that.)

Really quite very sure I'm on the spectrum. Awaiting report back from assessment.
Recently quit Wellbutrin XL 150, taking Dexedrine spansules when I can afford it.
A little slow with social interaction- if I offend you do not hesitate to let me know, chances are I really didn't mean it.

i traveled back in time and i got a 41. luckily, i don't feel that way anymore. this happened to me when i was 12 for the first time. i remember the pediatrician treated me with Gamibetal (maybe it has another name) and it got worse, i don't remember what else he gave me but it went away for a while, until the major depressive episode appeared. Never did the other test they mention anyway, so i think it was just a short episode or maybe a symptom of BP II and all the depressive stuff.

I got a 43. I haven't been officially diagnosed with anything like this, though I've definitely displayed many symptoms. It seems like they come with my bipolar episodes so I don't know if it's a separate thing or what.

Rx: lamictal (100mg), lithium (900mg), lorazepam (1mg), benadryl (sleep), melatonin (sleep), trazodone (sleep)

Past Rx:

adderall

aripiprazole (abilify)

bupropion (wellbutrin)

citalopram

dexmethylphenidate (focalin)

escitalopram (lexapro)

fluoxetine (prozac)

meclizine

methylphenidate (ritalin)

risperidone (risperdal)

I got a really high score on this test but I attribute my deperonalization/dissociation totally to depression, and I wouldn't seek a further diagnosis. Interesting, though.

I just took the quiz (I think I have seen this quiz before). My score was 54. As expected quite high. DP/DR has been an issue for me since I was about 16 (I am 41 now). Recently things have started to change, so maybe finally I get to feel like a real person again... :D
