Hello,
I just saw my PCP doctor today about my anxiety troubles, and he has prescribed Oxazepam. I can't find much info on it on the crazymeds site, but he assured me it was a benzo and not something else. I saw an internist last week who wanted me to go on Zyprexa but I said no, and he agreed with me and said we could try this. He prescribed 15mg for use at bedtime and as needed for breaththrough anxiety. I just wanted to know what to expect, I've been taking Ativan but it isn't quite doing the trick for sleep.
Thanks,
Kelly

Yes, it's a benzo, not an antipsychotic. I've used it for muscle spasms when I didn't have Valium, and while it's not my choice because it made me way too sleepy the next day, it *did* work better than nothing. YMMV as to how long it'll stick around in your body.
Brain Cooties NOS - Keppra and Dexedrine make things better. Subthreshold bipolar? If so, doesn't bother me any. Basically a general subclinical spazz.
Most meds ever on at once: 9 + vitamins/supplements
Currently: 2 to 5, if I remember my puffer and need my PRNs
Average: 4

Hi GreenGal/Kelly, I have taken Oxazepam for years. It's been my benzo of choice. works well with no hangover effect and I have not ahd any tolerance issues as well. 15mg has been my standard dose as well. good luck with it; I hope it works for you.

Yeah Serax is a benzo, and a very common one here in Sweden. Actually it's the first line treatment for anxiety. Weird how medicines vary so much between countries.
I don't think it's that strong, didn't help me that much, but no hangover effect either. I'm pretty sure I took 5 or 10 mg, but if I took two that worked so much better.
