I'm getting dizziness and shortness of breath on ativan. Is this common? I have an appointment on Thursday but just wanted to see what others reactions were.

For me, that's exactly what Ativan STOPS, lol!  How long have you been on it, what dose, and could it just be residual panic somehow?  Are you maybe anxious about taking a benzo?  I'm not discounting that what you're experiencing could be a straight-forward physical side effect.  I know that Klonopin works really well for my husband, but Xanax got him all agitated and jittery.  So yeah, I guess this one could possibly be a bad drug for you.

One side effect of all benzos is hypotension. Have your blood pressure checked to see if it is extremely low. Low blood pressure and respiration can cause these problems.
DX: BPI mixed, PD

RX: Lithobid, Gabitril, Klonopin, Provigil, Omega 3

Yes it could definitely be this.  There is also a possibility that you are reacting badly to the environmental change in the drug, and the dose isnt strong enough.  It could also be an allergic reaction, in which case another benzo might be a better option.

Get your blood pressure checked, talk to your dr about the problem, and consider changing benzos. Something like diazepam or alprazolam (valium or xanax) MIGHT be better for you.

Rx : 60mg Prozac, 20mg Zyprexa, 20mg Abilify daily, 20mg diazepam PRN.
