I hate uptight boards. I can't always follow the rules because I am a rebel. Hahaha I'm not really.

So the rules around here are very nice and relaxed. And screw child friendly boards, if I want to say fuck I will.

the nipple clamps things relates to a long dead thread. I should probably remove it.

No way. Nipple clamps are a proud CB tradition! Besides, it gives people a good sense of the tone of the place just by having that one extra sentence in there; yeah, we have some rules and serious goals for what we try to accomplish here, but we also tolerate (or a lot of the time even instigate) random diversions off topic and silly non sequiturs. It's obviously lower priority and not one of the main purposes of the site, since it only gets one sentence down at the bottom, but having it as the closing statement like a punctuation mark makes it memorable. How can one little sentence say so much? You can take my nipple clamps when you pry them from my cold, dead...nipples.

Proof once again that we are the only adventurers for whom the letters "AD&D" stand for "Attention Deficit Disorder" - Roy Greenhilt, Order of the Stick

Rule your own nation at Cyber Nations, A nation simulation game! Yes, I do waste spend a lot of time on it, especially the Viridian Entente's alliance boards.

That's pretty great. I can't decide whether I like that or their Oedipus Rap video more. They both make me happy, though.

Great ToS!

I am sure an attorney would think it a bit "undignified" and "over the top", but it seems to cover all the bases.

Except, it seems, the concern one user here has about profanity. I would not worry about it, but if you want to be safe, restrict membership to those over 18 and state in the ToS that the site is intended for adults...and if the cybernannies don't like it? The cyberdoor is over there. Make sure it does not hit you where the Good L-rd split you on the f*^k1ng way out.

:devlish:

My opinion? From what I have seen of CB so far, "disguised" elements/relatives of the set of "the 7 words one cannot say on the radio" (used to not be able to say, anyway) are more than enough "taming" to get by the general public.

No need to do more.

I wouldn't have said we had very many underage posters anyway. And naturally, kids will join regardless of their age. It's simple enough over the internet to pretend you are older. I don't think that we should restrict membership. I only turned 18 last year, and had I found CrazyBoards earlier, I think it would have made my first year of university a lot easier, and maybe I would have gotten help sooner.

If they're under 13, then there's some legal crap to worry about (while COPPA can and should go eat a dick, that doesn't make it magically stop existing). Other than that, if their parents have a problem with what they're doing, maybe they should try doing some parenting and <insert usual suggestions here about keeping computers in a public area and actually interacting with and talking to your kids etc.>.

I was trying to think of a good way to stick some gratuitous cussing in there, but it's too early, and I haven't been up long enough yet. Fuck it; I'll just post it how it is.

I said--as a mere suggestion only--that users should be over 18 "TO BE SAFE"...for us (the old legal "CYA"). It's indeed NOT a protection against bad parenting or lying users, and is not legally required to be.

However, the old "YMMV" applies; I have no objections to younger people registering and using CB.
