  1. I somehow ran out of Dexedrine before my next prescription was labeled to be able to be filled this past weekend... Don't know how. I never abuse my stimulants. I take them as prescribed, religiously and meticulously, dispensed in my pill planner every week. I have heretofore never taken "drug holidays" though. So anyway, this forced me to take a one-day drug holiday from my usual 60 mg/day Dexedrine, and I can say that it was absolutely dreadful. I'm taking it mainly for ADHD-PI, but also for treatment resistant bipolar depression and hypersomnia unspecified, as well as to assist with weight loss. Just one day without, and I slept practically all day, and when I wasn't asleep, I was either a weeping, ugly-crying mess, or I was binge eating. I gained 3 lb the next day, which I know isn't a whole bunch, but, you know... I'm pretty sensitive about weight gain. I filled my Dexedrine a day later than the day was indicated so as to not look like I was "looking for a fix..." especially since I'm trying to get a job at the pharmacy at which I fill my prescriptions, start back on my Dexedrine, and two days later (today), I am feeling better than I've felt in about in month or so (before I switched to Rexulti and ruined everything good I had going for me). I felt like I did right when I switched from 40 mg to 60 mg, my mood was shining and gleaming, I was talkative and laughing, I wanted to do things and wanted to go out of the house, I didn't want to eat everything in sight. TL;DR: I was back to my normal self +1. My question is, would there be some advantage to taking some sort of "pseudo-drug holiday" wherein I sort of alternate between 30 mg and 60 mg each day, or take 30 mg on the weekends and 60 mg during the week days or something like that? Or no? Has anyone tried this sort of regimen? I don't want to NOT take my Dexedrine, that was pretty damn terrible the day I went without it. I guess it does show how dependent I am on it though... But any input would be appreciated.
  2. Hi, I've been on and off of Risperidone for years now and every time I was taking it I would gain a lot of weight and quickly lose it when I went off. Now I've been taking it for almost a year and a half now and I've gained over 50lbs. I have decreased my dosage over the months and now I'm taking only 1mg. However, I am still not losing weight. And FYI I have a personal trainer whom I've been training with for over 4months now and still I haven't lost weight. I was wondering, if I take 0.5mg or 0.25 a day, would that stop the weight gain or help me lose it and go back to before? Is that even possible?? Or do I have to cut it completely to lose the weight like I've done before? Has anyone lost weight by taking only 0.5mg?? Help please!
  3. Going through a med tweak. Quack moving my lamotrigine from 300 to 400. He said to jump straight to 400, but I was unsure because it's been many years since an increase and wanted to avoid possible side effects. He said he doesn't see much difference between 300 and 350. I decided to go with the 350 for a couple of weeks and then go to 400. I also wanted to test the possibility that 350 might be enough to quell the creeping depression and save 400 for a future time if needed. Quack is very resistant to trying over 400 - the medical literature says therapeutic range is 200-400 (we all know how accurate that can be... ), and has been pushing Latuda hard. So, I've been on 350 for almost 4 weeks, and I actually am getting some relief, but not as much as I would like. However, it can be the case that it could take up to 8 weeks for full effect of med tweak to kick in.... It's been so long since I started on it, and so long since I've had an increase, I really don't recall the time frame in which I began to feel effects of the changes... Should I wait longer and see if there is more improvement in the next few weeks? Should I go to 400 now?
  4. Hi I started serequel not long ago..a few days ago. Titrated to 200 mg but too strong. Can I drop to 100 mg? I get anxiety when switching doses or start a new med.
  5. I have been on Wellbutrin 150 mg on 3 weeks and 5 days, just 4 days ago i started to feel the positive effect. My depression has definitely lifted, i enjoy life again and i've got more energy and motivation. But the depression is still there, i'm still not where i used to be. So i want to try increasing the dosage of Wellbutrin to 300mg to make the positive effect even stronger. But my doctor has told me she's seen patients get emotionally flat/lose their creativity on 300 mg, so i am here to ask any of you who are currently taking Wellbutrin 300 mg or have been on it before. Did you feel any sign of emotional flatness or lost creativity? Or did it make you feel even better than on 150 mg? No negative stories about the medication in general please, i'm only interested in hearing how you felt when you were on 300 mg of Wellbutrin.
  6. I currently have a sample pack that says "Days 1 and 2 take 20mg, Days 3-7 take 40mg". But then it doesn't say anything about the first week? Should one continue to take 40mg, or should dosage be bumped up again?
  7. Hi everyone, I'm new here, but have been reading a TON from the various forums over the past week. I've been struggling with major depressive disorder for 20 years - since I was 16. I typically have around 3 severe depressive episodes per year, each of which tends to last anywhere from 1 to 4 months. I've been on a ton of different medications, been hospitalized 3 times, done outpatient programs at least twice, and have been in therapy for 19 years with the same wonderful therapist. With my most recent episodes (of which I am in the middle of one now), my psychiatrist and therapist both are describing me as treatment resistant. We are considering ECT (I have a consultation with the ECT doc next week - I've been basically living in the ECT forum all week). In the meantime, my doc has increased my dosage of Lexapro and added Wellbutrin. I have been on Lexapro for several years and we thought it might have been working, even though I still had 2-3 depressive episodes per year. I started out at 20mg of Lexapro, and now I'm on... wait for it... 100mg. I've never heard of anyone being on such a high dose, and I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of it. I asked my pdoc if that was a safe dosage and she said it all depends on the individual and their tolerance and side effects. I haven't had any major side effects. To complicate things further, my hubby and I have been trying to have a baby for 2 years (have had 3 miscarriages). Everyone agrees that it would be far less harmful for the fetus for me to be on an antidepressant than for me to be as severely depressed as is my norm. Pdoc did say that we'll stop the Wellbutrin as soon as I know I'm preggo, but I've stayed on Lexapro during my last 3 (failed) pregnancies. I can't help but wonder if the meds are contributing to the miscarriages, though I know 100% I cannot be off them. Whew! That's a LOT of info. I'm sorry for the novel! I'm thrilled to have found this forum, and you guys seem like a very intelligent, supportive, and well-informed group. Thanks so much for reading and letting me know your thoughts!
  8. Hi, Was wondering if anyone takes 10 mg of Latuda. 20 mg is the lowest mg it comes in tablet so in order to take 10 mg, it would have to be split. I have Akathisia from taking 20 mg and my physiatrist suggested splitting it to 10 mg. Wanted to see if others found this to be an effective dose. Thanks!
  9. Hi everyone Does anyone split the Latuda 20 mg pill to only take 10 mg? Thanks!
  10. Since tapering down to .75mg/day (properly with no withdrawal) I have noticed my dissosiation symptoms gradually become obstructive the past month. Resuming 1.5mg/day has made me realize how much the med helps; it is worth going to see the p-doctor every 3 months. I don't consider myself to be overly anxious or prone to panic, so tapering down is easy for me to do. I am glad that I went down from 3mg to 1.5, but lower than 1.5 is not enough to have a benefit for me at this time. Doctor told me sometimes the demand changes, and a lower dosage can be just as well.
