Hi, I wanted to know how long does it take for Valium to start working and how long does the effect last.

Valium (diazepam) is fully absorbed from the stomach in approximately 1 hour (range 0.8 - 2.5 hrs) and is slowed when taken with food.
Its half life ranges from 24 - 48 hrs.
It takes from 5 days to 2 weeks to reach a steady blood plasma level with continuous dosing.
