Hi Brenagirl,

Thanks for replying in my thread.

If you are in a manic state, and the benzo is not putting you to sleep, its highly doubtful you are having an adverse reaction. Did you talk to you PDoc about this? I am assuming that when you say you took another dose of K you mean Keppra. (sorry if I spelled that wrong). Does that usually make you sleepy or put you to sleep?
Maybe you should talk to your PDoc about taking a different AAP to get you out of your manic state. I usually take Risperdal for mixed states and that usually does the trick.

Best of luck

I thought you said that your mother took your daughter a couple days ago???

You need to go to the ER for help.

You need to have a back up plan for taking care of your daughter anyway. What are you going to do with her if you become totally unable to care for her or yourself? Who takes care of her if you are in an accident?

good luck.

I took PDocs advice and took a triple dose of my meds. Sorry when I put "K" I meant Kolonopin. And boy I got some GOOD SLEEP FINALLY. So I am absolutely fine today. Guess I need to learn to trust these people more huh! Wow so today, no mania, no depression, no in between....I finally feel like myself...hehe...next project....attacking anxiety!!!

~Thanks for your concern--Life can be really scary

Sorry A.M.

My Mom randomly comes and gets my daughter when this happens to me. Until she can't handle the demands of a 4 year old anymore. However, with the severity of my condition being what it was, she stayed here with me last night. I didn't even have to go to the E.R. in the end. They had my PDoc contact me, I followed his directions and I am A Okay today!!! Thanks so much for all your help!!!

Don't know if this is timely or too late, but my experience with Klonopin is it works pretty well on anxiety, but is not sedating AT ALL, and I take a high dose. I switched to it from Ativan, which was sedating, but not cutting it with the anxiety. One of the pharmogeeks explained to me "that's the way it can be with Klono"....FWIW.

I'm tapering off Klono and taking trazedone to sleep.

Not sleeping sucks ass.

S9,

You are SO RIGHT. Kolonopin just doesn't work that well for me either. They had me up my dose to 3mg last night and that FINALLY put me to sleep after 5 days. So I guess if you take a crazy amount it will work, but I don't feel safe doing that. So I am definitely gonna talk to PDoc about something else for those inbetween times of mania and crashing. No sleep definitely sux!!

~thanks much

I don't take Klonopin for sleep, i find it doesn't make me sleepy at all even at 6mg a day. I don't have issues with sleep however, i take it for anxiety. I have mixed results with it, but i think it's helping somewhat. That means, no panic attacks since i started taking it! Good! Still have some anxiety tho. Good to see you are doing better!
