I tried Klonopin a couple years ago and it made me irratible for some reason. Anybody else? Just didn't agree with me. Ativan is great. No side affects, agrees with me and is the only thing that really helps anxiety. However because of its short half life I may try Klonopin again to get a steady amount in my body. Ativan doesn't seem to last the whole night and by the time I wake up I'm agitated already. Last night I took some in the middle of the night and that helped.

I have taken Valium the most, but I did develop tolerance. I have taken Valium, Xanax and Ativan. Valium and Xanax were far more effective than Ativan in controlling my anxiety.

Im going to be a sole voice chiming in for oxazepam loved.gif

Xanax rules. I've never gotten addicted or dependant... although this last week I've been washing it down with entire bottles of wine, so I'm not a good person to listen to.

I love my ativan. <3 I think it's the only one that really works. plus, no side effects (that I've noticed)

I love my ativan. <3

Xanax, even tho my pdoc has basically cut me off. He limits how often I can ask for it. It does the trick without knocking me out.

I started with klonopin after my first obvious panic attack. My husband gave me one of his. Worked like a charm. Since then, I have my own p-doc and we started with the goal of finding another med for me, but this still works the best.

I've also tried Ativan, but obviously they were too weak for me. I say that since I have been on Klonopin (varying amounts) for several years now.

Clonazepam is my benzo of choice, it seems to control panic attacks. Doesn't take away much of the anxiety tho. I've tried Xanax before but it didn't seem to do anything (maybe too low of a dose for my body). I've been on clonazepam for almost two years.

I love my Klonopin. I"m normallly very afraid of long car rides to the point of panic attacks, but yesterday I was able to go without any real nervousness. YAY!

I was on Klonopin for half a year (2 mg) and that kept the night time anxiety at bay. Mild withdrawal.

I prefer Xanax since it really KILLS anxiety. I can also use it as a sleeping pill. Horrible withdrawal in the same league as Trainspotting.

I've also tried Valium, Sobril (Oxazepam) and Nitrazepam.

Klonopin (clonazepam) for me. It helps me a great deal with big meetings at work and other types of social events. I take it as needed and it does make me tired, but then so does Paxil and Topamax and that doesn't stop me from taking them.

klonopin-awesome!

I'm the one hit at "other". I no longer use them in a regular basis - thank god - but as needed, I take Rohypnol (flunitrazepam) and Dalmane (Flurazepam, marketed here as Dalmadorm) to sleep and Lexotan (Bromazepam, marketed here as Somalium) to chill out. I don't know if any of these three drugs is legally available in the united states or the uk, but for the occasional usage they absolutely rock. Frequent use messed me up a little though.

I love my klonopin. ativan didn't work and xanax gave me incredible headaches. I guess I'll be on klonopins team til they kick me off...

Klonopin. It can make me a little sad and/or stupid so I don't use it as much as I was rx'ed. It DOES stop the constant worrying and inner chatter, making road trips, family visits, and other stressful events much more tolerable. I like it.

I voted for ativan, but...

it doesn't really work so well for me. It's all I am trusted with though (for some reason), so I'll take what I can get,

i'm not sure really if my 2-3mg klonopin is supposed to be prn or if i'm supposed to have some kind of schedule to it. i think that those are the doses i'm allowed to have per day if i need them. there are days when i don't need klonopin, but i do at night. it is terrible. i have bad panic attacks and wake up thinking someone is in my apartment. i have to go around the place and investigate.

after the investigation and i know the coast is clear (and i can put down the bat), i take 1mg klonopin and usuallly some rozerem with it and go back to sleep.

klonopin rocks!

when i first got it, my pdoc sat down with me and told me that i could possibly become addicted to it and it could become habit-forming, and asked if i wanted to take that risk and go there. i really appreciate it that he let me be an adult and make a choice in my own health care, rather than withholding benzos from me out of fear i'll become addicted to them. i think he keeps an eye on it, like that i'm not asking for increases, but i've never had trouble getting a script.

in this script i have enough to take 3mg on days when my anxiety is really bad, especially for the night dose. i rarely take this much though. i'd be a total zombie if i did! goofy.gif

I had appointment with new pdoc today and she stressed about 4 times how BAD benzos are. This is scary. She going to let me go down in dose slowly but doesn't want me at the 3-5 dose of Ativan I'm on. I know that's high but feel I need it right now.

i have a huge fear of public speaking and i get panic attacks when i do it. I took a 5mg Valium tablet for it once and it worked really well i was totally calm and collected. The problem is i wasnt prescribed it. My grandma gave me a few cuz my shrink wouldnt prescribe anything (not even beta-blockers like inderal!) so next time i have to do a presentation i'll have to go it alone or buy the meds off a no-prescription internet pharmacy.

I'm back batting for team diazzy/vally. I am a bad girl, I use it recreationally to chill out on occasion sad.gif

Klonopin on a regular schedule, augmented by an occasioanl PRN seems to really work for me. Ativan made me feel really slowed down, like I was walking through molasses.
