the half lives seem to be the same, but what about potency. My pdoc is switching me to ativan because he says it will work quicker to get me to sleep, where the klonopin takes a while to knock me out.
any opinions?

Have you tried putting the Klonopin pills under your tongue? I thought I couldn't do that with mine, but then I was desperate one night and it's actually almost yummy. But I don't know what brand you have.
As for benzos as sleeping pills... I've been there, currently trying to reduce my Klonopin to the really insomniac nights.
I did it because nothing else really works for me. Have you tried other options? Ambien, Imovane, Lunesta?
Benzos can be scary. Really scary.

From what I've read Klonopin has a much longer half life than Ativan. And couldn't you just take the Klonopin a little earlier?

I tried the wafers and putting it under my tongue just doesn't work.
I tried the regular pills and I think I just built up a tolerance to it, since it takes me a while to get to sleep on it.
How much klonopin equals how much ativan?
