I've taken both ativan and klonopin in the past with no problems. I was building a tolerance to ativan which is what i'd been taking for past few years (klonopin prior to that with no problems)

pdoc recommnded sticking with one benzo at a time ( id been kind of overlaping them). well i was needing so much ativan so he upped the klonopin doses to 1 mg instead of 1/2mg.( and cut out the ativan) I am so tired I can't stand and i honestly don't think it's working for the anxiety other than making me sleep ) which on the other hand have oddly too much energy to do even though I feel like it)

I was so tired I dropped back to the 1/2 mg dose and its as if i'm still at the higher dose- so tired but its not even helping ( this was al in an attmpt to counteract bad side effects from wellbutrin which i brought up befor but maybe in a place no saw)

I can't find a balance - I have on and off had reasonably good combos- but now after 15 years of this I feel like I'm starting from scratch and can barely function. I'm so frustrated and mad!!

i've taken both ativan and klonopin separately and concurrently. i didn't have difficult cutting one back (the ativan) and right after that, reducing my klonopin intake to .5mg (from about 2-4 mg per day).

HOWEVER ... at the same time when i was reducing klonopin and getting ativan out of my system i was in the midst of a destructive mixed state. so i don't think my experience is really any kind of control from which to judge your current experience.

I've tried x-overs from Klo to Valium and back again. Lots of fun. Suicidal. Tried experimenting by increasing dosage, but it didn't work either. According to my chart (use at your own risk), Klo is 4x stronger mg for mg than Ativan. Of course Ativan is quicker acting, so I hear. Reducing Klo requires a long taper approach. How quickly did you reduce to 0.5mg Klo? According to the gospel Dr. Ashton (I'm being facetious), a taper like that (1mg to 0.5mg) should take a couple of months. Even a x-over takes many weeks. Sorry to hear your going through the grinder. I’ve been trying to taper off my Klo/Valium combo for the past several months….

Yes I wrote that too but that was soley about wellbutrin and had nothing to do with benzos.

clearly i am having an assortment of med issues and trying to go to the appropriate place to post for each med.
