Yes im in the US. I got it just by suggesting it to my dr. and her also not wanting me on more benzos. You could always say something along the lines of, i've been reading online and on forums that Lyrica is good for treating anxiety symptoms. Would moving me from Klonopin over to Lyrica be a potential treatment option for me instead of having me take a benzo daily.

Thank you, that's great news this is a possibility.  I didn't know pdocs would prescribe lyrica.  I will definitely ask, it can't hurt.  Hopefully my doc will be able to get me off klonopin slowly and without much withdrawal.  I'm tired of being on klonopin it just makes me flat.

It's kinda meh. I've taken it many times before and I've developed a tolerance to it. I was mostly trying it to see how it helps me with my binge eating disorder since its active metabolite, mCPP, is a 5-HT2C partial agonist. I wanted to get 200 mg/night but my pdoc either decided against it or forgot to put "2 PO qhs prn."

I still have some doxepin that I take that helps better I think. 10 mg helps a little, but 50 mg helps a lot better, which is contrary to what should theoretically should happen.

How is lyrica working out for you? How does it compare to gabapentin if you have taken gabapentin before?

I love the way Lyrica is working out for me. Some p.docs might not like it, but dosing Lyrica at 300mg BID is what seems to be around the effective range in psyc outpatients, although they sure don't have a problem dosing gabapentin high as crappp. Yes I have had gabapentin before and it pales in comparasion to Lyrica. They are not substititutes by any means and Lyrica has it's owm immediate and unique antidepressant activity and is perfect for ensuring I won't have sleeping issues upon stimulant comedown and also help dampening of my my bipolar mania day by day without complete D2 blockage as with a medication like I was previously taking for sleep related issues, i.e. Seroquel or Zyprexa. It [Lyrica] is not something I like to take everyday, however, so maybe like 4-5 days out of the week I'll take Lyrica. Any "intoxicating" side effects from Lyrica are far less than those from gabapentin and you will grow used to the side effects quickly in my experience.

How has Remeron been side-effect wise? I just got prescribed it.

Also, what do you mean fairy dust? Lamictal has been great for my seizures with no side effects. I guess it would be like fair dust to me too.

Update of meds as of today's pdoc visit:

Added: Risperdal 2mg added back to my combo

Added: 6 supplements which I got at a vitamin store...According to doc, the combination of these supplements is equivalent to a dose of ENLYTE-D, which my insurance does not cover.....Complete list of supplements in my signature...

Although I have not done any genetic testing for the MTHFR mutation, my doc thinks these supplements might help my depression.....At this point, won't hurt to at least try them.

I am on Remeron for a little over a month.

Initially (and on dose change) it interfered with my sleep. Either I fell asleep mid-day, couldn't sleep at night or wake up really early in the morning. I had to jump quickly over the 15mg dose for this reason.

Now I'm over it as far as I can tell. No side effects that are significant anyhow.

Gained a few grams, negligible for me.

Lamictal is hard to explain, it makes everything “fit together”, just right, bit still not cause euphoria or anything of that type. If “fairy dust” is not clear then “magic powder” may be more like it :)

I'd say fairy dust and magic powder are close enough. I just wanted context was all.

It's been great for me too. Keeps away seizures, fixed seizure related symptoms (hindsight, didn't know they were symptoms), and didn't flatten me out. I don't experience unstable moods so that was important to me.
