In a word, yes. LTG titration can be very bumpy and can make you feel worse before you feel better. Anxiety is not uncommon. Are you still at 37mgs? I don’t think I started to feel better until about 50.

With lamotrigine it's best to push through it if you can. Somewhere between 100mg and 200mg is usually the goal for bipolar mood stabilization with the potential to go to 250mg but not a lot of benefit is seen beyond that for most people. As monotherapy for unipolar depression (which is unusual) it sometimes responds to doses below 100mg and smaller doses may be useful with an antidepressant as well.

I guess it really depends on what you're really trying to use lamotrigine for.
