Has anyone ever worked with a job coach to work part time, while at the same time had the job *not* affect their SSDI?

I want to work. All I do is lay in bed all day. I feel a job would give me confidence, a purpose, and some meaning in my life. I’d rather not volunteer. There are no situations I can think of that I’d like to volunteer at. I know some people from my old groups that did light cleaning of offices with job coaches. I think I could handle that.

But I’m worried it will trigger a SSDI review or worse.

Anyone work very part time long term and still have SSDI? Or am I dreaming here? I guess ideally I would be able to handle making more than I currently make in SSDI (which is not much). But I don’t know.

Check with your SS office, I know I can earn $1,100 a month and not jeopardize my SSDI payments.

Thanks for the info. I will call them.

Also there is a SSDI benefits specialist who works at the county clinic I go to. I will get an appointment with her too. But first I need to discuss this with my case manager and tdoc.
