I'm having an issue when it comes to booting my computer.

I turn the computer on and I get the "dell" logo. It stays on that screen for at least a minute before moving on to the next stage of the startup process.

Next, it goes to a black screen and it stays on a black screen for at least 2 minutes before it starts booting into windows.

It's smooth sailing once it starts booting into windows.

I don't know what I did wrong, as it's only been doing this for a few days.

I appreciate any help.

I don't have any sure answers, but once when I had booting problems, I had left an SD card inserted into the card slot and the computer was trying to boot from that when it couldn't. So make sure that your card slots are empty and that your DVD player is empty. You might also go into BIOS and check the boot order and make sure it is what you want it to be.
