  1. This guy deserves a medal or a vote, maybe both: http://news.yahoo.co...-023749042.html Keep in mind homelessness and mental illness are politically void topics because there are no dollars in them, hence, the more credit to this man for tackling the issue. Try to spread the word far and wide .

    The great chat god

I thought this was going somewhere totally different
  3. VE: I will donate as soon as I get some cash in my card. I have a suggestion however, you should place a "Raise Cash" Banner at the very TOP of the main forum page and advertise the thing a bit. If I hadn't seen your post on the first day I would have missed it completely. The banner should be in addition to the donation button you already have, which I would suggest making more prominent as well. A banner would help raise awareness in the community. If you already have something like that going and I missed it I'm sorry, but if I missed it it does say something about the visibility of the thing. Best.
  4. This happens to me in public (flashbacks) but mine last only a few seconds so although I will make a face or a noise or loose my bearings for a few seconds most people pretend not to notice and I pretend nothing's wrong. Thats how I keep trudging along. I'm sure a whole lot of people think I'm a weirdo and talk behind my back but I just do the best I can, no one can really ask more of you than that. Just pointing out my own experience.
  5. "Asperger's and anxiety" the most meaningful book on MI I have ever read.
  6. Sadly, I sincerely doubt it's the worlds most expensive manic episode.
  7. Books, don't know what I'd do without them.
  8. Um, yeah, I used to get those, though I never had guilt until I started getting medicated. I could have seriously hurt several people, though my rage was usually directed at my family. Honestly San, its a matter of medication. Now a days I'm Mother Teresa. People around me yell (sometimes at me) and loose their cool and I'm calm 95% of the time. Even when I loose it it lasts no more that a few minutes. It's nice to be the voice of reason for a change, instead of being the crazy one. I think this is something you should discuss with your pdoc. (Just as a side note Benzo's give me completely uncontrollable rage)
  9. I'm with Sylvan, this strikes me as the most reasonable approach to protect yourself and not harm the other person as well. Best.
  10. Patience. Please, God, give me more patience.
  11. I'm with Breezy, you are very beautiful so don't worry about that, people say shit just because they can. You do need to start planning for your future and looking at your options down the road. Do you really want to stay where you are doing what you are doing now? Are you going to get a GED, go to college? All these things you need to think about now because if you don't things won't improve, the most you can hope for is they will stay the same. I know it sounds stupid, when someone told me this when I was in school I nearly puked on them but in a few years you will look back on this and just laugh. That will happen when you have your life together and all this is behind you. Work to put it behind you. I know a whole lot about bullying, I quit school over it and went to boarding school, I think I have an idea of how you must feel. It comes down to not letting "them" win. When people abuse you they want to see you fail, to see you down in the mud, the best way to get them is to succeed and spit on their faces on the way up. Bottom line, like I've said to you before, come up with a plan and stick to it. If I may be so bold I would start with my GED and looking at a college. If thats not for you, try to figure out how you can make a good living with your horses, I think you could find happiness there. I'm not sure what your family issues are, you've mentioned drinking and jail a few times. Don't let that become your life, you are so much better than that, I think you can see where you are headed right now with the fighting and the SI and the drinking and whatever other shit you do, especially with quitting school; if you can't see it, well, let me tell you it's pretty obvious. Don't end up as a statistic. Above all don't believe that things people say about you, they don't know you (we could get in a philosophical argument that no one but you can know the real you but I digress) because if they did they would want to be your friends. What little time I've spent talking to you you strike me as a massively intelligent and sensitive person. I repeat, come up with a plan for the next 5 years of your life, make it ambitious, and stick to it. Also, work on your issues, get medicated, see pdoc, do whatever you need to do to put MI behind you, this should be your number one priority. For the rest of it, you have your friends here on CB, we understand and we are here to help you dig yourself out of the hole you are in and succeed. We wouldn't do that if you were any of the things people want you to believe that you are. You are a wonderful person. Best.
  12. I've been on Seroquel XR (also happily known as Slurroquel ) for years in doses ranging from 100mg-800mg a day. A few important tidbits, with Seroquel, taking more won't necessarily make you sleepier, sleepiness levels off at 100-200mg/day.At a 50mg dose its not acting as an AAP but merely as a sedative, hence you should expect to be sedated. Normal sleepiness wears off over a period of 12-18 months, at least in my experience but you should still take it right before bed. Extreme sleepiness like you are having wears off after a few days/weeks, the first night I was put on Seroquel I fell asleep standing up and hit my head in the bathroom but that never happened again, even with 8 times the dose. I'm happy it's working on your racing thoughts and anxiety, if it turns out that it really is working after a few weeks then you hit the medication jackpot cause most of us go through years of searching for the right med/combo. Best of luck .
