  2. I have PTSD. I started taking Latuda, 80 mg and Lamictal 100 mg and it worked for me. You have to watch the Latuda for blood sugar issues and I would spontaneously vomit after taking it sometimes. It helped with my obsessive thoughts and nightmares. I'm having to step down from it now because it made me gain too much weight and made my blood sugar high. As for Xanax, they can cause more anxiety in the long run if you are on them too long. After 2 years, I tapered off, which was a nightmare, wow the withdrawals, and now take hydroxizine, 10 mg 3 times a day and 50 mg at night for sleep.
