yeah ... see, it's been 8 years since I wrote a citation for anything. At that time there were no "electronic only" journals (only online reprints of print articles) no extra multimedia stuff in the online articles, it was just a straight copy that was more convenient to obtain. Things change, and hopefully I'll never be in school again...

Really? The last time I wrote a paper I cited plenty of electronic journals same as the paper kind. But I haven't been in school for a while.

That's what I would think -- the Kindle is not generating the text and doesn't need to be cited. It's like if you read a photocopy of an article vs the original -- you don't have to mention in the citation that it was a photocopy. But maybe the title of this thread was just meant for illustrative purposes and wasn't a real question.

If the link was supposed to play a video, it didn't. I have never heard of these PSAs but SAMHSA (the organization behind it) is a major federal government agency dealing with substance abuse and mental health services.

They might not understand you want to be alone, but surely they'd understand if you said that you're unemployed and can't afford the travel cost right now? Either mode of travel will be pretty expensive considering you're just spending a few days.

Cats are very popular pets in general ... plenty of non-crazy people like them too Maybe crazy people have a tendency to be socially isolated and so seek out the companionship of animals instead. And cats are not so much of a workload as dogs. A depressed, housebound person may not want to take a dog out hiking, or whatever. For the record I have 1 cat and 1 dog.

I'm confused, do you want to get it just for the hell of it (which I would question because it may change or because your feeling of identification with it may change) or, for some kind of permanent emergency-purpose identification (which I would also question because I can't think of a single emergency situation where knowing your psychiatric diagnosis would matter)?

Yeah, I think it's this more so than apathy.

I don't know where you live, but in most states in the US, ECT without consent is definitely not legal. I think Oregon is an exception, and in other states it may rarely occur but ONLY with a formal hearing, legal representation and so on.
