  1. I'm thinking about drawing or painting something. Not quite sure what or how, but perhaps it would help me to understand what is happening or just help me cope. Not sure how to get started and I feel shame because my boyfriend might see my drawings and get worried or just find them weird. I could perhaps draw on my ipad, that feels a bit more private... Do any of you use art as a means to manage life? Does it help you in any way? What do you think - is it worth trying?
  2. Hi there everybody. I was recommended to this site by .id and I am very excited to start using it as a place to meet other people with MIs who can relate. I am 23, diagnosed with dysthymic depression, and I also fall on the bipolar spectrum. In the past, I have had hallucinations. That was toward the beginning of the times when I first started noticing symptoms, about 8 years ago. I have been on antidepressants for three full months now and they are starting to awaken my irritation/mania, although it may be paired with stress/sleeping/eating/general lack of routine. I have been touch
  3. Greetings, So I'm on Long-Term Disability through a private insurer at the moment and I am terrified to call them and ask id I can work while on LTD. As part of my therapy and really my life Art has been who I am. I am back in my studio making a lot of work, and I want to open up an Etsy shop or even put a few clay pieces up for sale on E-bay, but I am afraid to do so as it may look like I'm working and I do not want to lose my LTD benefits. Should I call the private insurer and just ask them this question point blank? How to do I phrase it? What have other people done? Thanks in adv
  4. This is a thread for sharing artwork (of any form) that you love. I'll start off by sharing work by Daumier (1808 - 1879). Though his work may not seem hugely unique now, you have to understand that Daumier was far ahead of his time. He was not painting anything at all like his contemporaries and his work predates the impressionists, many of which were inspired by it later on. When I was younger and just starting to get into art, I found his name mentioned in Van Gogh's diary or letters (can't remember which). Although I liked Van Gogh, the moment I saw Daumier's work, I immediatel

  6. I've been in a severe creating mode lately. I usually stick with drawing & writing, but my drug of choice at the moment is crafts. I like weird things as my DH would say, however those things can be pretty costly. I have actually found that most of the things I would like to have (rather it be clothes, accessories or just stuff) can be very easily made. So I have been making like mad (possibly literally, not quite sure). I wanted to share some of the things I have done, and I thought maybe others would like to join in? I have noticed that a lot of people at Crazyboards are fellow a
  7. I've been into looking at artwork a lot lately and here are some painters I find really inspiring. I love landscapes that are kind of impressionistic and/or surreal. Hope you enjoy them, and if you feel like posting your own links that would be really cool. Also sorry if this sorta thing has been done before, lemme know and i can move it. http://www.joannadur.com/ http://www.hallwaygallery.com/gallery06.php http://zzweiart.com/ http://sorsdahl.com/prints.html
  8. Hey Folks! It was suggested that we set up an area for the artists of crazyboards to share their work. I thought this was a good idea and did something about it. I have set up a new global album in the gallery in which artists can share their work apart from all the personal photographs in the main album. http://www.crazyboards.org/forums/index.php/gallery/album/376-crazy-artists/ Dreadohdreads is going to be starting a group blog where artists, writers, and other creative types can make posts embedding the content from the new album or other work for display and discussion.
