Greetings I've had several pharmacists tell me that Fish Oil (which has been proven to help alleviate depression in some people) keeps meds from being absorbed by the body. They say that the oil binds to meds, which in turn prevents them from being absorbed. They have told me that I need to wait four hours before and after taking Fish Oil before I can take my meds, but my days frequently aren't that long due to my depression. So I'd take my meds, wait 4 hours, take the Fish Oil, wait another 4 hours, and then take my second load of meds. I'm frequently asleep for large parts of the day (seeing p-doc about this), and so at best I could only take the Fish Oil sporadically, rather than daily. I'm sure it needs to be taken daily in order to achieve maximum effectiveness. I used to take Fish Oil for depression and it seemed to help, but then stopped when I learned this information about how it impedes med absorption. I know you folks know a great deal about meds, absorption, etc. Will you please give me some guidance with this? I really want to start taking Fish Oil again. Thanks so much troop
Hey you may have noticed that I tried Potassium with good results. now I have "designed" a "protocol", called "Uber's protocol" for improving symptoms of schizophrenia, which does wonders for me. In my protocol I suggest to stay on antipsychitics but take some nutrients (all within the RDA) alog with that. It's even backed by some (pseudo) science! take a look, I need traffic to get on top of google ;-)
