  1. Hey guys. I always read posts on here but never have actually made an account. I decided to make one after I experienced the lamictal rash two days ago. A little background- I am always very hesitant to switch medications, but the past year has been hard for me and after taking the genomind test found out SSRIs won’t do shit (which I always knew). I have been on lexapro for years, it helps a little with my anxiety but not really anything with my depression and I’m always in a daze. I also just switched from seroquel to ambien and can finally sleep. My p doc was very hopeful and optimistic about me trying the lamictal for depression. I was on it for 13 days (did notice a little difference in my mood) when my lips started getting very itchy and chapped. Didn’t really think anything of it until I couldn’t open my mouth cause they burned SO MUCH. It wasn’t just on my lips but all around my mouth. Red, cracked, scabbed, itchy, bleeding. At first I just thought it was sunburn or allergies but nothing was relieving the pain. My p doc said to go to emergency room. Two MDs confirmed it there that it was the lamictal rash and I needed to stop the lamictal immediately. Its now been two full days and the rash is completely gone!! Pretty bummed I have to start a new medication again since lamictal seemed to be working and didn’t make me in a daze 24/7. ***also I was only on 25mg of lamictal when I got the rash. Anyway, thanks for reading this post. Anyone run into this problem and had to stop the lamictal? What else did you try for depressive related symptoms?
  2. I've been on 2 mg of Rex for 2 1/2 weeks now. It's been amazing. About 3 days ago I noticed a rash on my left shoulder. It is really tiny bumps with white heads on them like tiny pimples. They have a slight itch as well. I thought nothing of it until applied some hydrocortisone to the affected area a couple of times a day for 2 days. Needless to say the rash is still there and has spread to my other shoulder. Could this be caused by the rexulti? I read that one of the side effects is a rash. Has anyone experienced this? Tonight I took a benedryl.
  3. Hi, I'm new here and hoping one of you can help me out. I've taken Lamictal, 400 mg (max dose) for about 8 years. We added on Neurontin just 4 months ago ( 200 mg). 3 weeks ago I started itching. All over- even between my fingers. No rash but heat makes it worse. I've eliminated all obvious causes - lotions, shampoos, detergent, dryer sheets..so on. I've never been allergic to anything in my life (47). My Dr wants to titrate me off the meds, starting with the Neurontin. Last resort. Has anyone here had a reaction after being on a med for a long time ?
  4. Hi Everyone, I know that when titrating up on Lamictal, one has to be very careful regarding rashes and other erratic skin behavior, watching in particular for Steven Johnson Syndrome. I had no problems when I went up on the Lamictal, but now I'm decreasing it and have been developing rashes and all these other skin conditions, like folliculitis, that I didn't have before. The skin conditions started to flare up right around when I started making cuts to the Lamictal, although I may be wrong on that. But the timing is about right. Any thoughts or insight into this? Thanks troop
  5. Hi all— I started taking clonazepam for sleep and anxiety on Thursday evening. Today is Sunday. My current dosage is 1mg at bedtime. I am also on mirtazapine, 30mg at bedtime, for depression. On Friday I woke up feeling refreshed, as though I was alive again, after a full night of sleep. That same day I noticed what looked like a bug bug bite on my right cheek which I dismissed as such. On Saturday I had another bug bite under my right eye, again I brushed it off as a bug bite. But today I woke up with the same bites, this time a lot more red, tender, and itchy than the previous days. The right side of my face shows a clear rash starting over my eyebrow through the right side of my nose and finally descending to my right cheek with a splotch under my right eye. I don't feel any worse, nor have I had any changes in vision or anything else that warrants immediate attention. I've notified my doctor and I will be hearing back from him on Monday. Should I be worried? Has anyone else had a similar experience? I don't want to stop taking it because I don't want to stop sleeping again. I wonder if the rash will disappear as my body gets used to the medication. Any feedback is appreciated!
  6. Please say it's not. I love this pill. I suddenly have 2 red blotches on my chest-just above my breasts. Is this the start of the rash??? Please be aware I have no allergies to anything.
  7. I can't recall exactly when this weird rash started on my body (on my arms and back) but I know that it was either shortly before or after going on Geodon. My dermatologist has put me on three different antibiotics now and nothing has cured it, and it did get worse when I upped my Geodon dosage. He's convinced that it's related to one of the medicines I'm taking because he's biopsied one of the pustules (sorry, getting gross here) and the lab results came back negative for anything else. Geodon is the only new one on the slate; all of the others I've been taking for a year or more. The problem is that my mood has never been more stable. I'm afraid to go off the Geodon, especially since the only other antipsychotic I've been on is Seroquel and I gained 17 pounds in one month on that. So, what are my options here? Do I just live with the rash? It's pretty embarrassing, it looks like scabies or something. I mean, is this my body's way of telling me I'm allergic to the Geodon and even worse stuff is going on in the inside? Should I try something else even though I'm risking mood stability? I know you guys can't tell me what to do, but opinions or similar experiences would be much appreciated.
