Is feeling unsafe - even at home - a symptom of trauma? I also have anxiety disorders, but this feels different.

i feel unsafe pretty much all the time. i don't know if it is a trauma thing, but it sounds like it could be. is this something you are able to discuss with a pdoc or tdoc? for me personally it's like a mix of paranoia (from a bad episode that never really went away fully) and hypervigilence

I don’t trust much of anyone. I like spaces with doors I can lock tightly behind me, ideally with latches that can only be undone from the inside. I like having dogs around, which is ironic, because in an emergency I’m sure I’d end up protecting these two furbags, but they make a lot of noise. It doesn’t feel like anxiety. It’s too acute.

Yes, it could be... My therapist says that trauma never really goes away. So if you have past experiences of feeling very unsafe (even at home) it's quite possibly some residual trauma.
