What keeps you going in life?? Hobbies?? Goals?? Dreams??

I've suffered for decades since a kid with tremendous anxiety, depression, OCD, and nothing seems to help. I've tried everything possible, medication, vitamins, therapy, treatments, except Ketamine because I can't afford it. And I don't know what to do anymore.

How am I supposed to be hopeful about the future, that something will help? People keep telling me have hope science is constantly making improvements, but it's not easy when you feel so hopeless. What do you guys do to survive? I can't even hold a job, everything becomes too stressful, i feel like my life is pathetic.

My cat. She’ll be 16 in a few days, so I worry what will happen when she passes. But I also have the hope that I’ll find a combo of meds that gets rid of my symptoms again. But mostly just the fact that the alternative is less appealing to me at this point. I’ve definitely been in places where I’ve felt it’s the other way around...many times. Just not right now.

Pornography and marmite.

In that order?

As an American I have no experience of Marmite, though I understand that one of its marketing slogans was “Love It Or Hate It.” The description does not sound appetizing, therefore it is on my bucket list of things to try when I visit the UK sometime within the next 2-3 years, along with haggis. Perhaps spread over haggis, to concentrate the experience. Assuming that the Kingdom is still United at that point.

I concur about the quokkas. If they weren’t so scarce, Australia could easily weaponize them - release a number of them among an opposing army and the enemy would be effectively neutralized in seconds because they couldn’t resist just standing there watching them hop around.

Or combined? I did Google "marmite porn" after seeing your reply. Just out of curiosity. One of the results was "Pornstars share their favourite lubes". Nooo! Jesus Christ. A lot of people can't stand it. There's some funny videos on youtube of people trying it for the first time. I think there was even one of a lion trying it. Didn't approve. Here's an American's view on marmite.

I've never tried haggis. Sheep organs wrapped in sheep intestine I think it is. Yum! English people aren't known for their cuisine but I think we're above Scotland there, if only just. There aren't many nations we can mock for eating worse food than we do. Jellied eels anyone? Doesn't sound appealing. Thank God for immigrants! Coming over here with their delicious food, taking away the jobs of English people selling us garbage.

Quokkas are ridiculously cute. They could bring an end to conflict if they were parachuted into war-zones. The opposing sides would be united in wanting to get a quokka selfie. They'd realise that their differences don't really matter because awww! Look at the little bugger hopping along!

Sometimes I honestly wonder and don't know. But typically, I would say some combination of stubbornness, hope and not wanting to hurt family and a few close friends. I also think there's a logical part of me in somewhere in my head that says, Yeah, things definitely aren't great / suck right now, but they'd suck even more if you just threw in the towel. Everything would probably go downhill rather rapidly and you'd either end up dead or sectioned and in the hospital.
