jarn
I have been following this case since first reported. I really hope this will result in charges. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/soleiman-faqiri-cause-of-death-jail-1.6135673 At least in Ontario, there is a huge intersection between people of colour being killed by those in power and and mentally ill people being killed by those same people. Justice is deserved for both reasons, obviously.

This is terrible and so sad......Police brutality here in the states is now being recognized as well......You've probably heard of the George Floyd case, where George Floyd, an African American, was murdered by a police officer last year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_George_Floyd Fortunately in the George Floyd case, justice was served, and the officer that killed him was convicted of murder, and sent to prison. I hope that justice is found for Soleiman Faqiri.....This kind of violence needs to stop. Edited August 11, 2021 by CrazyRedhead
jarn
Yes, I followed the George Floyd case - and other murders by police in the US. I read a lot of international news - well, BBC, and I have an online subscription to the NY Times. I am so glad there was a conviction in that case - so many times there isn't justice.
