The shit people tell me about Ivermectin

I got familiar with Ivermectin because some idiot thought swallowing horse dewormer was the smart thing to do.    So basically anytime I heard of Ivermectin being used I immediately envision someone swallowing horse dewormer and not having a good time.

However, Ivermectin has it's uses in humans as an antiparasitic drug, and it is specifically meant for treating tropical diseases.  However they don't dole out ivermectin to whoever asks for it, and will likely decide what's necessary once you are admitted to hospital if you catch the air-AIDS, and it won't likely be Ivermectin because it's been deemed ineffective.

Of course Doris*, a well intended neighbour, mentioned it was used in the treatment of Malaria, and insisted Ivermectin is successful in treating Covid.  From scientific sources it's not effective.  I think it's still under investigation as being used in fighting Malaria.

So I mentioned my mother takes an antimalarial drug to control her lupus, like Plaquenil.

Doris* seemed to confuse my mentioning this as my mother takes Ivermectin, when she takes an antimalarial.  

I thought her information was way off.

There are other ways to treat malaria. Ivermectin I think it’s  still under investigation as being one.  Anti-malarial drugs are an entirely different class though and I think she is confused.

I think what is happening  is every time she reads a promising news article on a new drug to treat covid she gets all excited; but then Scientists research the drug and  say it's not effective.  Doris then gets mad and yells, "all the media lies!" and doesn't factor in that she just got her hopes up, and yes media lies, but Science certainly knows more than she does.  Ivermectin is a big wonderful drug, and they are withholding it, according to Doris.* 

Doris* then went on like she knew every VAERS case, and informed me that everyone she knew who got the vaccine was incredibly sick, or had died, and Eric Clapton lost the ability to play guitar after his vaccination and that young athletes are dropping dead from Myocarditis due to vaccine injury. 

When I said I had 3 doses of the vaccine and had no problems whatsoever, aside from a slightly sore arm from the needle, Doris* was stunned because I was one of the few.  

 I've checked with a few people and only one felt mild flu symptoms afterwards.  literally no one I know was gravely ill from the vaccine.  she lectured me on how rich Pfizer is getting from creating the vaccine and how it's meant to control people.

Now i am just worried I might have caught air-AIDs from Doris.*  But being triple vaccinated I probably won't get too sick.  

The thing I hate about social phobia is how easy it is to justify it.  Disinformation is a disease.

You should tell "Doris" about this article below......There has been a significant increase in calls to poison control centers about ivermectin overdoses, and more people being admitted to the hospital because of ivermectin poisoning.........The majority of these people are poisoning themselves with cow and horse ivermectin from feed stores.........**SIGH**

I think what bothers me is Doris doesn’t grasp basic scientific process.  She takes information and frames it as the next great thing, or absolutely correct before it’s researched as such and when it’s disproven she blames media and doesn’t consider the facts.

she thinks Eric Clapton is permanently disabled from his vaccine.  He recovered and refuses to play venues because of vaccine restrictions.

Sounds like my sister....She refuses to get the vaccine and thinks masks don't work....Her ex-husband nearly died from covid, and still she refuses to get vaccinated.

The scary thing is that she is an elementary school teacher.....Fortunately, the school system where she works does require her to wear a mask at work.

The after effects of covid are no joke.  A high percentage are "long haulers"  and suffer debilitating neurological effects, or their kidneys shut down, and / or they develop diabetes.  Like why fuck around with that?

I have tried and tried to talk to my sis about this.....She is a highly educated woman, but says it's "her freedom" to not get vaccinated....**SIGH**........

On the contrary, Ivermectin is perfectly effective. I'll bet Doris* doesn't have a worm in her body.
