Beth45
I am struggling with perimenopause symptoms and had gastric bypass surgery in 2020. I have a hard time with antidepressants as far as side effects and "pooping" out. My perimenopause symptoms are out of control so I talked with my NP and he suggested opening up the capsules and mixing the powder with liquid and take it that way. He said he thinks I may not be absorbing the Prozac properly since having gastric bypass surgery. My question is does the Prozac work differently when you take it this way? I'm really hoping it will help me. Thank you.
Iceberg
I think theoretically it should be ok. You could ask a pharmacist, but I’d imagine the np has experience with this. I know in hospitals it is common to put capsule beads Into something like applesauce for some patients but idk if it’s done with Prozac specifically
