This is med related - but in involves 2 different kinds of meds so I put it here.  Since raising meds I have been way dopey and walking around in a fog.  Seeing doc tomorrow and wanted to know what you all think.  'Cause in some ways I trust you more than him.  It's gotten to the point where I can't remember if I've taken my meds, so I take them again.  Or not again if I never took them the first time.  I need one of those day of the week pill thingies.  And walking into things more.  Just generally not feeling things as much.  A-duhhhhhh.....

I went from 225 to 250 Lamictal and from 90 to 120 Cymbalta.  I am thinking it is the cymbalta for some reason.  I am really sleepy too which is weird since the cymbalta should be activating.

Pardon me while I smack myself around in attempts to wake the fuck up.

Gwen,

The pill thingee will save your sanity. I just broke down and started using one and the only thing I don't take prn is my cymbalta. I had gotten away from using the pill thingee (lost it...thank you ADD), but I got another one the other day, and as soon as I find THAT one...I'm loading it up.

Even when I use the pill thing, I'll look at it, it will be empty for today and I still have no recollection of taking the pill. Oy.

Time to go back to bed.

I feel like this could be either, although the size of the adjustment on the Cymbalta seems relatively larger. (I don't want to be a tool, but is there a way you could do each adjustment seperately?) As far as the Cymbalta, I recall getting really tired soon after starting it. Only later did it become activating. (Too much so for me.) I wonder if this has to do with the idea (not sure if this is fact or rumor) that re-uptake inhibitors actually initially decrease the level of the chemical in the brain.

Out of curiosity, how's your sleep? Have you noticed any reductions in the quality or the ability to stay asleep?

the pill thingy will honestly help a lot.... I know that it has for me.  Yes, people look at me like I'm 90 yrs old, but it does help.

good luck with your doc and hope you get things straightened out...

When I went on Topamax,  I had to get one of the day of the week pill thingees too. It made me too forgetful and I couldn't get my meds straight. BTW, aren't Lamictal and Topamax rather similar in side effect profiles? I would blame the forgetfulness on that before Cymbalta....

I got the coolest day of the week pill container at the dollar store. It's like a little dresser with removable plastic drawers for each day of the week. (How much of a dork does that make me sound like??) I fill it up each Sunday for the week. Each day has four compartments: breakfast, lunch, supper, and bedtime. I take the breakfast ones when I wake up, take it to work for the lunch and afternoon pills, and then bring it home after work.  The day container is about the size of a matchbox.

At work, I have popups scheduled in Outlook set in private mode to remind me to take my pills otherwise I'd forget those too.

I'm sleeping OK - except when my downstairs neighbors decide to blast music at 5AM.  The time change fucked me up last week, I kept going to bed too late, but I think I am better now.  I am just tired and dopey most of the time.  I go to doc today so we'll see what he does.  The last time I went in, he said to raise the cymbalta and I asked him about raising the lamictal because he said he was going to do that before, and his response was "Yeah, you can do that too".  He is a bit loose in his med decisions.  Duly noted about the cymbalta.  Good to know it can make others doped up.

On a side not - I was 15 minutes late for work this morning because I couldn't find my keys.  Went through everything on my bedroom floor, threw it all on my bed thinking they were maybe in that pile.  They ended up being on a desk that I never use behind my computer that I never turn on because it doesn't have internet.  Duh.

Have you tried taking the Cymbalta at night?
