Effexor withdrawl(itchy)

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

My old doctor told me not to go off Effexor, but I felt it was not helping.  If anything I felt it was making me worse.  He said it would take me three months to come off it, but he wasn't going to take me off it or up the dose.  I felt caged!  So I decided to find another doctor, and come off the Effexor myself!  I figured a month was good enough for me, and decided to actually split the capsules myself.

I did pretty good with just headaches, nausia, plus the hives!

When I went on the med.'s I was itchy as heck, so I just figured that it was happening in reverse.

The thing is I am still getting the hives on and off.  I've been off the Effexor for two months.  Did anyone else have this, or do I look else were for the cause?

Great Board, Great People....Thanks a lot!

Here is a link to the PI Sheet Rashes don't really seem to be a problem but check page 24 for more info.

I've not talked with anyone with this side effect.  there could be some other underlying issue and rashes can be serious sometimes so make sure you talk to your doctor about this.
