frannie
i was wondering if anyone has experience with a combination of wellbutrin xl/lexapro/provigil. i just started this combo yesterday. my history: i'm 20 and i have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, dissociative identity disorder, eating disorder-not otherwise specified (in recovery from anorexia nervosa), post traumatic stress disorder, and i am also a recovering crystal meth addict with 85 days sober. my mental illness progressed somewhat like this: -sexual abuse at a young age for a sustained period of time- led to early childhood development of eating disorder/DID. -treatment for anorexia nervosa -relapse -treatment for anorexia nervosa -brief stint in the army -treatment for extreme/chronic/atypical/what-the-fuck-ever depression with several suicide attempts -eating disorder relapse -another suicide attempt -crystal meth addiction -hit an EXTREMELY low bottom -treatment for meth addiction -relapse -treatment for meth addiction -relapse -finally decided to get sober and am now very active in AA/NA/12-steps in general -still feeling really fucking depressed/crazy/eating disordered/at times suicidal i have come to terms with the fact that i am just crazy and am going to be for probably the rest of my life. i am currently dealing with discontinuation of effexor xr (300 mg) and cymbalta (60 mg) (i have been on both for about 11 months- even through meth use) and am now taking 300 mg of wellbutrin xl, 10 mg of lexapro (which i utterly loathe; i took it for several months after my stint in the army and all it did was make me extremely tired/apathetic) and 200 mg of provigil daily. advice/experience? null0trooper
I always thought that Wellbutrin wasn't indicated for folks with eating disorder problems... But if the Wellbutrin/Provigil combo can help keep you off the meth and the Lexapro helps keep your moods fairly even, it's probably going to help far more than it can hurt. Guest Guest_susieQ_*
Hi There, I am sorry to hear you're frustrated. Although I have not taken those together, I have taken Wellbutrin and Effexor. Like the Lexapro and Provigil combo, the Effexor works on Serotonin and Norephinephrine... and in higher doeses the Norephinephrine effect is stronger. Everything is trial and error, patience... and waiting... soon enough you should see some positive results if you're depressed. God bless,

That would be "UNlike the lexapro and provigil combo" as Provigil hasn't been shown to be much of a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.

Guest justme
Hi there, Whoa, you've had a rough time. I've been taking provigil, wellbutrin, and lexapro together for a while, now. I love the provigil, but I still need the Wellbutrin. The Lexapro softens the "edges". I have a high degree of self awareness, so I have been able to figure out what does what to me. I can't tell you what is best for you. However, I can encourage you to pay attention to yourself. When do you feel better about yourself? What are you taking? When do you feel down, what are you taking? Stay in touch with yourself. Personally, I am grateful that there are drugs that can help me feel better. Hang in there. You have had a rough time.
