Sensation
I am wondering if zyprexa can be used for panic attacks, if so at what therapeutic dosage is that?
Cadplumber
I am wondering if zyprexa can be used for panic attacks, if so at what therapeutic dosage is that? It sure works for my son. He takes 7.5mg. It only took like 3 days....
Sensation
Oh I thought it would work that same day like benzos do.
ehygon
zyprexa for panic attacks seems a bit extreme to me. If benzos and SSRIs are out of teh question, I think seroquel would be your best bet. I personally would rather have a panic attack than take it, but some people seem to like using it that way.
Cadplumber
Sorry, I thought you were talking about maintainance, not one time use.
wifezilla
Part of my husband's mania manifests itself as severe anxiety. Low doses (2.5-5mg) of zyprexa do get rid of the anxiety in a day or two.
Batou
Zyprexa will knock out anxiety but it is a bit of overkill unless nothing else works. Having said that I have taken a dose of Zyprexa due to cases of severe anxiety but I have been off and on Zyprexa many times. And need at least 5 to 10mg for it to work right away, and it works basically by making me go take a 4 hour nap.
Loon-A-TiK
I'm always against the use of Antipsychotics unless it is for BAD BP or some hallucination issues. It seems like an overkill for anxiety to me. I'd explore benzos and other alternatives. Even SSRIs in your system will keep your general anxiety level down. I see you take Effexor and also Adderall. Both can contribute to anxiety. Talk to your pdoc about how you can get that anxiety down without lessening the value of your treatment.
