Loon-A-TiK
Hiya- I think I'm out of anti-convulsants and AAP drugs to control my BP1. My pnurse is thinking of either pushing the Dope-A-Max for a bit longer or possibly going to Dep. Ideas? Going back to Li has been suggested and this is noted. My pnurse is reluctant but I could demand it if I pushed it.
ehygon
Randomly, I remembered reading that a few people were taking Keppra for mood stability. I've seen maybe 2-3 people on the boards, but crazymeds seems to think highly of it. Something to think about.
AirMarshall
Well, it may be time to try the older but effective AP's like Thorazine and Stelazine. a.m.
Velvet Elvis
Have you tried all the new ACs, even the ones not commonly used for mood? Keppra and Zonegran?

Loon-A-TiK
I haven't tried Keppra or any of those other things, which I haven't heard of. I'll ask my pdoc about what we can do. Any other ideas are so appreciated!
cache-monkey
I haven't tried Keppra or any of those other things, which I haven't heard of. I'll ask my pdoc about what we can do. Any other ideas are so appreciated! Calcium channel blockers may have some utility. One doctor opines that this is especially for rapid cyclers who "are lithium responders, but who are unable to tolerate the side effects of the lithium." Also, Jim Phelps, over at psycheducation.org, has more info on the CCBs in bipolar. (What little there is...) Good luck, cache-monkey
