Sometimes I find music helps distract me from the voices, helps cover them up. Other times, I think the background noise or static in the music triggers the auditorys or paranoia. And I never know whether this is a time it will be helpful or not, so I tend to go in cycles of having music on all the time or not. Does anyone else use or avoid music for auditory hallucinations or paranoia?

When I was psychotic, I would see and hear messages in TV, movies, music, books, etc. It was fun at the beginning because I thought it was all referring to me, but after a while it all became persecutory. For a few months I stopped watching TV and listening to music altogether and played game after game of solitaire.
