z0tl Posted June 6, 2006 Share Posted June 6, 2006 hi, i am bipolar i, diagnosed in jan 2oo1. i say that again: i am bipolar. i don't suffer from bipolar. i'm one of those bitches who if offered THE cure would say no thank you very much and turn into magneto or something to make sure they don't force it on me. to sum up, this shpiel re: "i am bipolar" makes a lot of other bipolars hate my guts and want to kill me on a daily basis. i've been through 7 manias, mine last between 1 and 2 months and come about roughly once a year. i've been (majorly & suicidally) depressed only once, but it lasted a whole year 2oo5 between my 6th and 7th manic trips. that was very situational, due to the fact my wife (17.5 yrs together) couldn't deal with my manias anymore and dumped my ass. i would self-diagnose as bipolar vi (yes, there is such a thing as bipolar 6 in the dsm, aka unipolar mania, but they keep it hidden because it might have to do with the number of the beast and all). this happy happy joy joy mostly flying apeshit manic dealio is yet another reason why even more bipolars hate my guts. i come from http://theicarusproject.net - i was a most popular bitch over there for 2 years or so, 1200+ posts and all that before shit hit the fan and The Man(agement) gave me the boot for life. that's right, banned for life. poor me. so now i'm here. to redeem myself. hah. i read the rules and i think i'm allowed to be a contrarian (which i often am) unless i'm not a jerk and engage in personal attacks and such. sometimes it's hard to disagree with someone's opinion without the owner taking it personally. oh, well... we'll see how long i last. i've known of crazyboards forever, but never signed up. why oh why? Heh... So, you get death threats from other people on a daily basis? I can't say as I've ever met someone quite as proud of being Bipolar as you are, but that doesn't make you wrong either. I'm not sure what your official diagnosis is, but nothing you've described is inconsistant with BP I. Welcome to our neck of the woods. Feel free to express your opinions... we've all got them. Just remember that (for the most part) many of us aren't quite as pleased with our Bipolar as you. Then again... so what, right? If you are generally satisfied with being untreated, you are a rare person indeed. Lest I am totally thrown out the window here, I am taking 100mg Lamictal as a mood stabilizer and that is it unless I fly apeshit manic and end up in the hospital where they bring me down with liquid Zyprexa and such wonders. Yup, death threats from fellow beepers on a daily basis, that pretty much sums up my story. I'll thread lightly or not thread at all, lately I've been so friggin empty and just in a very draining existential funk that the last thing I feel able to do is contribute in forums. Not that I ever have anything to contribute, mind you. I think I'm ADD as well, but they didn't pick up on it yet what with all the psychotic manias begging to be acknowledged in the med charts. I can understand being overly happy as a brain malfucntion. I just don't get naturally chipper people. They're FREAKS. And, though I generally don't bring this up, as it's so unpopular, even here, They are the crazy ones, life does suck. I know what's going on. There's so much sorrow everyone should just off themselves. But, eh, I like food, I like my family (the one I made, with my wife and daughter, not that crappy one I was born into), and there are some good movies coming up.
