Where Y'all From? ;-)

Recommended Posts

Hi Philip!

I'm in Michigan, the lower peninsula!

My one nephew went to chapel hill and my other nephew will go in the fall as a freshman...that's near you, isn't it? I haven't been out your way.

Welcome!

Luli

Hi, Croix. Louisiana (Motto: Our Land Sinks)

I thought the motto was "Can you give me two tens for a five?"

I lived there when Edwin Edwards was in the Governor's Mansion.

Hahahaha, that too.

Another motto of ours is "2nd to last in education"

Ohio. or, Uh-hi-yuh as the natives say.

I thought it was more "hi-yuh", but sure.

I can't really decide where I'm "from", since I've lived so many places. 1 year in Florida, 1 year in Calgary (Canada), 6 years in Georgia (going on 7 now that I'm back), 3 years in North Carolina, 7 years in Indiana, 4 years in Ohio, 1 year in California, 6 months in Maryland...

And now in eastern Georgia.

How 'bout I just say I'm from the cultural South (GA, NC, IN - yeah, that's what, about 17 years, 80% of my life, good enough).

betcsu here:

Almost heaven,

west virginia

Blue ridge mountains

Shenandoah river -

Life is old here

Older than the trees

Younger than the mountains

Growin like a breeze

Most of population

escaping DC

from overpriced suburbs

moving to Martinsburg

On another note, I love the Beckley-Bluefield area. Beautiful weather, never too hot, never too cold, which is unusual out east. And beautiful scenery, to boot. Not to mention, the people there are way less ignorant and racist than those in Indiana or Georgia.

Have you heard the version of this by Toots and the Maytalls? "Almost heaven, West Jamaica..." and then the rest of the lyricas are like the original Denver version, but with the music roots-reggaed. It's pretty sweet.

Originally from Seattle, whole damn life, then moved here to Socal just over four years ago and will NOT be going back. I LOVE it here in Southern California, which surprised everyone since I used to say I'd never live in Cali. hehe.

The sun makes all the difference to me. And while the heat can be tiring, such as today, it is completely worth it for me.

I'm in the Inland Empire area....anyone around here? I know SoCal is a large area lol.

Mack from Nashville, TN or Music City, USA if you prefer.

Our motto is Thank God for Mississippi and Louisiana ;) (sorry - little jab at the Louisianans)

Is it just me or is Michigan well-represented here?

I believe y'all stole that motto from my home state of Indiana. Though, we replaced Louisiana with our neighbor Kentucky.

Then again, we do call ourselves the "Mississippi of the North"...

I'm gonna go get a piece-a straw to put in my mouth,

Maybe this has been done before. If not, then...

Hello, my name is Philip. I'm from North Carolina.

How about you?

Hi Philip,

I live in NC too, but I'm 'from' California (spent a few years in-between in Louisiana, I believe the Mayor was Marc Morial then...)

Hi I'm form baltimore, or as the natives say, Bawlmore

Strangely, I just left there in March (used to live in north Baltimore, just inside the city line from Pikesville, in that neighborhood with those cute little houses as well as synagogues on every block. ;) )

So your from Georgia.... B)

Technically, most of the state (read: Atlanta) would rather disown us to SC. I'm 5 miles from SC, as it is, and downtown is about 100 yards away from SC.

You've probably figured out where I live by now. (No cheating by searching CB for the occasional reference I've made!)

Florida - been here my whole life, born in north Florida, now barely existing in central Florida.

kane

Perchance were you born in Trailerhassee, like I was? I visited there for Labor Day weekend. This constitutes an extremely bad pun.

SunshineOutside--

Your city has a lovely airport. I use it on a regular basis. :-)

Though in these parts there is a little too much "sunshine outside", if you will. (Wait until July...)

Now, in the state shaped like what it is--a big PRICK--Florida. Yu think anywhere else sux? I challenge you to a national suck=-off. Fla. wins, without a question. Worst 18 months of

my entire life. I could go on and on--
