username
I have finally convinced my UK pdoc to let me try Prozac (soon to be lexapro) and wellbutrin. Serotonin syndrome is possible with this combination, but extremely unlikely. If you want to be ultra careful, read up on the SS symptoms. I really would not worry about it though. Greenyflower
No. Wellbutrin acts on norepinephrine and dopamine. The Lexapro is highly selective for serotonin. Ne'er the twain shall meet. I've been on 450 mgs Wellbutrin XL and 50 mgs Zoloft for over a year now with no ill effects (unless you count the purple pustules with wiry orange hairs growing out of them.) hollywoodfreaks
I'm on both Lex and Wellbutrin too. They don't really act on the same stuff so it's okay.
Thomas
I was on lex and WB for years; now I am on effexor and WB. neither combo seemed to bother me at all. Tommy
username
According to my consultant, there is a 1 in 1000 risk of SS when combining the two.
dianebea
Just don't take Ecstasy. There are several published reports of adolescents and young adults NOT taking SSRIs who've developed SS after ingesting the drug. dianebea
