Cetkat
I'm taking a shitload of meds and I just had the luck to get sick. It's a virus, so I can't go to the doc - but I need to take something for this fever. Any ideas on what would be the safest to take? My first Lithium level test was today, so I don't even know where I'm at with that. Any help would be greatly appreciated... (All my meds are in my sig)
AirMarshall
*I am not a doctor* Tylenol would probably be the safest fever reducer. The NSAIDS can interfere with Lithium, and make it go high, so since you just started lithium, I would not suggest that without approval of your pdoc. As always, best to see your doctor. a.m.
LunaRufina
Double check here with the med checker, but you should be ok with Tylenol. [i checked but I might have missed something, so you should go through yourself and make sure] You should talk to your doctor if your fever doesn't improve after a couple days though. (Besides the lithium that is) And I'm just too tired right now to try and research it.. - which is what I would normally do. Not looking for a book answer.. just an informed opinion. The disclaimer was a foregone conclusion. Thanks again! I appreciate it. Edit: Thanks NavySurya, I appreciate the check and your concern. I won't neglect my health.. I just know that they can't do anything about viruses, so there's no reason to go now - only if it doesn't get better. Then I promise I'll go get something for it. charlie_not_chuck
Calling a pharmacist can also help you find the right one. ...or just going to the pharmacy itself, but if you're sick then that's a no-go. They are there to help.
