Shift worker - given Zopiclone for sleep

Recommended Posts

I need some advice from people who've used this previously. I only work 3 or 4 night shifts a week, sort of randomly spread through the week usually. Get home 5am and desparately need to sleep once I get home but it's hard when light / daytime.

Will it fook up my sleep patterns if I use it just on days that I have just had a night shift.

I was rx'd it for sleep problems and found it no use at all, apart from on a transatlantic red-eye flight. It turned out that I was suffering from terminal insomnia, where I could get to sleep but not stay asleep. Zopiclone was ok for knocking me out, but I was awake again three hours later. It's also not supposed to be taken for extended periods (it's either addictive, or you build up resistance to it, I can't remember which).
