Velvet Elvis
so i've been on seroquel for 14 days now (200mg), and i've had some mild psychosis since starting it. things like seeing things out of the corner of my eye, seeing things randomly (but slightly) move, having weird paranoid thoughts. i don't know if it's caused by the seroquel (if that's even possible) or just a coincidence, as my psychosis seems to come and go, even though i'm on risperdal. could it possibly be the seroquel? i think it's working for my intrusive ocd thoughts somewhat, or maybe that's a coincidence too. Did you have this before you were on it? I don't know enough to even speculate about how those two would interact. Combined with cymbalta it did wonders for my OCD at that dose though. Loon-A-TiK
seroquel- when i first started taking it (and this did go away with inderal and time), i had the worst EPS ever. i couldn't stand up or use the bathroom by myself. i'd be on the floor trying to eat cereal out of a bowl that was on the floor, and i'd miss my face wtih the spoon and fling cereal all over the kitchen. i had to have help crawling if i wanted to get up or down the stairs. ahhh, my early seroquel experiences... ...which lead me to believe that it is entirely possible that you're having seroquel issues. my pdoc didn't believe how bad i was until my mom took me in to see him in the condition i was in, and then things changed! maybe it is the combo of 2 AAPs? i'd ask your pdoc. that's pretty weird. there are a lot of people around here who love seroquel, but i'll always be leery of it, just because of what it did to me. my skin itched inside and outside, i couldn't sit still, my muscles gave out and i'd fall...you get the idea! it was horrible. i was taking 50mg and OMG did it mess wtih me. now i can take it if i want (and was up to 800mg at one point), but then it was a nightmare. i'm thinking it could be an interaction, but only your pdoc would know. or maybe seroquel. i love to blame the world's problems on seroquel! AirMarshall
Hi, welcome! Yes, it is possible to have paradoxical reactions. I can't cut and paste from the PI sheet, so I'll just list a few of effects: "Frequent" "Occuring in at least 1 per 100 patients (from a trial with 2200 patients): * Pyschosis, hallucinations, paranoid reaction, delusions, manic reaction. Kind of surprising since we normally think of these being the conditions that people would take Seroquel for. The dark spots or shadows that seem to appear momentarily out of the edges of the vision, are essentially a minor form of hallucination. Other members mention them from time to time, and I have had them on Paxil, and early on with Lamictal. My pdoc asked me a question or two, and then indicated she wasn't concerned. You should check with your pdoc, since there is always the possibility of other eye diseases. If things worsen or continue you should check with your pdoc to let him know what's going on. a.m.
myrkkyhammas
seroquel makes me have severe closed-eyed hallucinations. once i got to 300mg+ those went away along with any 'normal' ones. being schizoaffective, you might should be on a bit more.
