chewbacca
Hi, First does anyone take cymbalta and concerta or prozac and concerta together? THen I found this on the net (I know) but just curious if it is true? dude dont take cymbalta with adderall that is very very bad for your blood pressure!!!!*** anyways, effexor xr 75mg was what i got put on after strattera, prozac, celexa, lexapro, elavil, paxil...i have been on them all. wellbutrin xl worked wonders for me until i became allergic. EFFEXOR along with everything else (except wellbutrin) MADE ME SOOO TIRED I COULDNT STAY AWAKE DURING THE DAY. one of the side effects of effexor which i found funny was excessive yawning. cymbalta 60mg i had taken for a while. i liked it a first, made me happy, but tired after a while. i took my concerta along with cymbalta to prevent tirdness and i was shaking uncontrollably. they defenitly cause contraindications with eachother. SSRIs and ADD meds shouldnt be taken together for many reasons which i cant remember. ashley- pharmacy tech
null0trooper
SSRIs and ADD meds shouldnt be taken together for many reasons which i cant remember. ashley- pharmacy tech Would you normally trust someone who claims to be a "pharmacy tech" by profession, hence a possible "expert", but who only has vague memories as to which classes of medications should not be co-administered? What do the Patient Information sheets for the medications say?
HaloGirl66
That is the most vague warning... Try a search on the handy dandy med interaction checker https://www.aidsmeds.com/cmm/DrugsNewContent.asp no interactions listed for concerta and cymbalta
chipmunk
I am on 10 mg of Prozac and 27 mg of Concerta. From what I have found out, the Prozac amplifies the effects of the Concerta and vice versa. My personal experience would uphold this as well. I was going to ask my doctor to up my dose of Concerta but now that we have added the Prozac in I'm wondering if I shouldn't reduce the dose. I have zero appetite and have some blurred vision, although my blood pressure seems to be fine.
Donna
Older thread I know but I have been reading on the other boards about these two drugs being taken together. It just seems that each combination works better for some people then another. I did look up on the side effects of each 1st being the Cymbalta -http://www.pharmacydrugguide.com/Cymbalta_Side_Effects and 2nd Prozac http://www.pharmacydrugguide.com/Prozac_Side_Effects I have heard good and bad about concerta... All these drugs are so scary to me..Anymore feed back out there with the combo's ahead a time for me? Before I start this awful journey of finding the correct meds? Oh almost forgot I saw this on that site. You can a free trial of Cymbalta and they have other suggestions for savings on it too. Cymbalta Free Samples page - http://www.pharmacydrugguide.com/Cymbalta_Free_Samples Ugh just to confusing..But 30 days free maybe worth a try if that is the drug choice of drug my prescribes. olga
Donna, as a rule, we ask people to refrain from resurrecting old threads. This one is almost 7 years old and you have no way of knowing if the OP is even still around. As you continue to read the boards, you will find that a 30-day supply of Cymbalta is almost useless. For most of the people I know who have taken it (including me), it takes 6 to 8 weeks to start to feel the effects of it. If you don't have the means to continue with a drug, it might be better to not start it and talk to your doctor about a good alternative. olga
