I went up to 300mg Seroquel 2-3 nights ago. Yesterday, I woke up with a rash on the right side of my chest and neck (not the left or center). I took off my new silver necklace, but that wasn't the culprit. Indeed the rash seems redder and itchier today, so I finally took some benadryl, and that has helped with the itching. There's another small itchy spot on my outer thigh.

Gah, I really hope this is going to go away. I really like Seroquel, and I don't want to give it up.

Anybody else experience a rash on Seroquel?

and this rash did not occur on the lower dose?

from what you've said, it could be the seroquel!

this is from webmd:

"A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing."

you probably want to talk to your pdoc about this. you didn't describe your rash as serious, however according to this, it is rare and you need to speak with your health care provider. i'd call the pdoc!

Midnight and the rash still exists. It's smaller since the benadryl, but still too red for my comfort. Dammit all to hell. I'm going to try cutting back to 200 tonight and calling the damn pdoc over the weekend. I don't want to give this drug up! Maybe I just titrated up too fast.

DD definitely had horrible itching, at first, with Seroquel, too. The rashes were very red but, in dd's case, I thought the itching (which was uncontrollable) contributed more to the appearance of the rash than anything else. Anyway, the PDoc did not think it was an allergic reaction because, she said, that generally occurs in the first couple of days of starting the meds (not related to titration) - who knows. Anyway, dd took Benadryl round the clock until the rash started to subside and then only took it in the morning. Around the time she started with the morning-only dose, the PDoc thought it could be a combination-of-drugs reaction and lowered her Trileptal dose. That really helped and the itching is rare and minimal now.

You live in South TX, right? In DFW we are suffering miserably from allergies and have been for several months. In my dd's case, I wondered if this contributed to her itching/rash problems.
