lostit2
i am 34 yr. old, I am diagnosed with BP1, severe anxiety and panic attacks. I have been on so many different medications that I don't think the psychiatrists will ever find the right combination for me. I just saw my Psychiatrist and he prescribed me abilify 5mg. Don't know if it's working or not yet. The anxiety is bad tthough I am on here to get real support no kiss ass responses that are a temporary happy parade for me........ Unregistered
The rx in your sig looks like a weird one for BP1, IMO. Go check out the Bipolar board, and don't expect many cyberhugs here ;-)
scatty
I hope the abilify works out for you. Remember to keep your pdoc updated on your progress (or lack of.) Check out the different parts of the board if you have a specific question. See ya around!

lostit2
Hi Thanks for the email.....I am on klonopin and it works for the anxiety to some extent. Can't get the episodes of anxiety under control more than 50%. It sucks ass bad!!!!!! I take Abilfy too. Don't have much luck with it either. xietyHi. Sorry to hear you are suffering. I don't know much about BP although there are a lot of other people here who do. I'm sure you'll hear from somebody else on that. I do have anxiety, though. Is abilify the only med you are on? I use klonopin for the anxiety and it works for me. My sister has anxiety, too, and uses xanex. I think xanex is stronger and she says it doesn't make her sleepy. If you aren't on anything specifically for the anxiety then maybe you could ask your pdoc about adding something specifically for the anxiety attacts. MiaB
hey, and welcome lostit I'm another BP1 with anxiety issues. My pdoc tends to waver between ativan and valium for me. Finding the right med cocktail is a bitch. Mine has changed many times, and at the moment the dosages I take of lithium and seroquel change almost weekly. I despair of getting it right. (I'm also curious about your BP meds - they're quite unusual for this disorder) Anyway, I'm sure I'll see you around.. and no, cyberhugs feature very rarely around here. Lots of straightalking.) dan
That does sound like a strange med line up for bipolar. Welcome to the boards.
Dee
Hi and welcome! I have the same DX. I have been through a few meds and Lamictal, Gabapentin and Seroquel with the odd Valium thrown in seem to be slooowly getting me back on my feet again.
