Libby
Last night I was out with friends, went to the bathroom, and was SHOCKED at how I looked. My eyes were red as a tomato.. well, almost. I have noticed that with Seroquel, I have dry eyes a lot, and this redness that won't go away. I assume it's the antihistamine action of the Seroquel. Regardless, it's embarrassing. Is anybody else dealing with this? I've used "take the red away" eyedrops and it doesn't seem to help much. I still look stoned.
CheshireCat
That's funny you mention this...I've had red eyes...not really bad, but enough to where I use Visine pretty often...for quite some time, but I never linked it to the Seroquel. I wonder if that's it! Huh! You've got me thinking now...

I get red, dry eyes especially If I sweat and get salt n them. It could be a side effect of the seroquel as I didnt have this problem before. Solution - either use visine or clear eyes drops when required, or simply rinse your eyes with water. I find these methods resolve the problem. Angelwhore
Hey, I've recently noticed that my eyes are really dry too...don't know how long they've been like that...never thought it could be a Seroquel side-effect. Hmmm..... They're not red though (I just checked in the mirror )
Loon-A-TiK
libby- when i took seroquel, i had the red/dry eye thing, plus looking stoned all the time. besides that and EPS, that's why i don't take seroquel anymore. i'd just get some eyedrops. loon

Libby
I found some eye drops at Walmart that really help. They're Similisan brand, they're homeopathic, and they're 5 bucks. They have them for different eye conditions, so naturally these are the ones for dry eyes.
Panz
Dropping in on the red/dry eye problem. I'm on a pretty high dose of Seroquel and while both eyes are dry, the left one is also sore and very red. my empathies/sympathies

Guest Hopefull
My teenage son has finally been diagnosed with Bipolar 2. He started taking Seroquel about a week ago. Yesterday morning he woke up with some redness to his face and eyes pretty red. I thought he was coming down with flu or pinkeye until my husband found your comments. Thanks! We will try the drops suggested. He doesn't need teachers or anyone else thinking he is stoned.
