Help-Arrgghh when is abilify going to work?

Recommended Posts

I'm still climbing the walls. (At least my car and house are very, very clean) When does the mania stop? Jeez I swear I'm thinking of caving and going back on create-a-blimp seroquel (even if its 25 mgs) I haven't slept more than four/five hours since starting this crap(with ambien no less)

Help!

Um, lilie?

If it's making stuff worse, maybe you should call your doctor. Inducing wall-climbing behavior is a bad thing.

I'm sorry. I'm on Abilify, but I'm not experiencing what you are describing. It's not what you're going for and you should call your doctor to get it addressed. Maybe they will have you go back to seroquel or maybe adjust the dosage.

How long have you been taking it? You need sleep and calmness.

I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but Abilify is among the worst offenders in terms of akathisia, which sounds not unlike what you are describing. For some people this resolves on its own after a while. But you should bring it up with your pdoc because some people have found that add-ons like cogentin or propranolol can releive the restlessness.

Good luck!

My pdoc gave me 5mgs of Abilify and I'm supposed to take it at bedtime to help me sleep. Everywhere I've been to research Abilify seems to say the opposite - it makes you ansy. So far so good with me - it's not done that. I don't know if it's helped with the mind racing and my general weirdness in thinking that the cause of all my problems are my friends and family. I'm only on 5mgs though which seems low to me. Who knows....
