abifae
is cheddar far more processed than other cheeses? see, i keep cutting out more and more refined foods. first sugars. then the bulk of flour (i have trouble getting ALL of it out, i don't have the money for proper alternatives).... and the more crap i cut out, the more foods i used to eat make me feel ill. now it's cheese. not good cheeses like brie or feta or edam.... but like generic brand cheddars and colby jack type stuff.... so is it more refined? or should i be going for tillamook only? lol. darn body wants to be expensive as possible, doesn't it? *mock glares at stomach* abi
wifezilla
It may be just that the cheap cheese isn't aged. Aged cheese is awesome. "Processed Cheese Food" is icky. I LOVE the taste of PepperJack, but it is often just processed cheese with jalapenos thrown in. I guess this means even closer food label inspections for you. Loon-A-TiK
what about possibly preservatives? i'm sure those cheeses don't stay "fresh" naturally. they're probably loaded wtih chemicals.
LikeMinded
I check the label on everything. To make sure it's not above 30% fat calories (USDA recommendation) and doesn't have too much sugar (this is entirely subjective, my blood sugar can get very high if I give in to the nightly Remeron-induced cravings). I think I might have the world's largest per capita stock of Splenda
